Default I haven't had a cigarette in 11 months...

Yet I still want one. Can anybody who has quit smoking tell me if they still get this or does it go?

From tons that I have seen and know, they still get cravings years later - it's a hard lifelong battle bud but it's good that you have stayed off of it so long.

Did you quit clean? Or used some method.

Quit clean. Actually I'm a little tempted to get some chantix now to stay off, I seem to want one more.

I've smoked off and on for years, never been hooked, haven't had one in months though, just like to have some natural tabacco at night every now and then, wouldn't want to be a fulltime smoker though that would be grose, still planning on getting the nicotine free electric ones I might just order some ebay tonight, what the heck.

Alsp - you should try a shot of the electronic cigarette coupled with some of the nicotine gum.

Every naffin day I could light a cigarette, every day.

The only way I can deal with the not smoking is to say 'not having a cigarette today'. I've never exactly said I quit. And the only reason I stopped was because I had a pre-cancerous lesion. That and the surgeon putting a hex on me.

Well done to you for getting this far. I can only give you as much encouragment as possible. Be strong with yourself : even months out you might think of smoking. Think of it but dont do it. And should you smoke, then think of starting again. Whatever you do, dont beat yourself up.

You know, I even looked at a supposed non-nicotine cigarette to try to convince myself I might smoke that
Fingers crossed for your success, Fletch

OP - I really hope you dont start smoking again - think of how fresh it all is without smoke.
Those nicotine patches I could never get on with - I couldn't get them to light

The way that always worked for me when I had seasons where I'd smoke several a day is to taper it off and jog, go as long as you can without one till your down to 1 at the end of the day then 1 every other day etc. also jogging does away with the erg to smoke, at least for me it always did.

^^^ I used to smoke on and off but in 5 to 6 year heavy stints. Jogging is what got me off for good. Plus I used to say to myself, I never get satisfied, I never get satisfied, I always want another cig, another sig, it made me see how stupid it was.

Met someone the other day who actually carries a vial of dirt with him - whenever he has cravings, mouthful of that - weird but shrug, a story nonetheless.
