Gone with the Wind,,,CLASSIC????
 

I Just finished seeing the So Called Classic "Gone with the Wind",,,So this is a Movie where Slavery is ok,,,they even Relish the thought of Fighting the North (Union) in the Civil war in order to keep the Slaves,,,pepper some VERY Disparaging remarks about Abe Lincoln throughout the Movie,,,Beat women,,Abuse Servants,,,and of Course Scarlet O'Hara,,,She is a SLUT By ANY ERA Standards,,,she spends the ENTIRE Move (4Hrs) chasing a Married Man, Herself getting married 3 Times, The last time BLATENTLY for Money, and yet the Movie is a Classic?????????

Is it just me, or do others feel this way?,,,I have NEVER Heard a Bad Remark about this Movie,,,Yes I Know that it is a "Compelling" Love Story, but what about the Rest?

I will reflect on your comments but it is considered a classic movie of its time for the acting. I need to reflect +/- rewatch in order to add my views. I think the book (if I recall correctly having read it) if written very well with well-described characters and solid language.

Is popcorn included?

I never liked that movie either......but never thought about making remark about it....

everyone goes on about its a wonderful life too, but I thought it was rubbish...

actually not keen on older movies full-stop....my favs start with Grease and later.....oh maybe the sound of music is an exception.......

I never liked this movie, or understood why it is a classic. But I'm the wrong guy to ask.

Everyone claims they hate the most popular groups, call them annyoing, sellouts, etc. But SOMEONE buys the tickets to their concerts! In other words, I think that commercially successful music is usually the best music. Sure, some groups stay unklnown that also have som great songs, but I just mean generally.

In the case of Gone With the Wind, maybe a lot of people just yearn for the "good old days" as THEY see them. I mean, there is no shortage of racists these days, and I'm sure that many parents teach their kids that it is OK - or even desirable - to marry for money. And members of both sexes have been known to use their sex appeal to get what they want.

We live in a not-so-nice world. What makes you think that people don't like to watch movies about not-so-nice people? Read a news story on Yahoo about the poor, the unemployed or the disabled. Many of the comments that follow are just downright MEAN and NASTY! Some are EXTRA-NASTY!

OK.... Taking happy pill now....
