International incoming wire transfer to us bank account?

Will there be a problem if its about 20k to receive from a foreign country a wire transfer. Like will the bank ask me questions or no? Im not doing anything crazy Im just asking since I read alot about irs reporting for 10k and above. Will I have to pay taxes on that? Its personal money, but I dont want irs charging me for taxes for that when Im not going profiting 1 cent from this.

They will most likely send you something to fill out. Might also trigger an account review.

The good news is if you fail the review, you don't need to wait 180 days for your money, and you can open an account at a different bank xD

Bank may well decide to ask for info.

It's within their rights to do so.

If all is above board, then no problems.

Why dont you ask this question to the bank hypothetically - speak to an account manager - its ALWAYS good to form solid relations with your bank,
