I'm telling you stick with AT&T. The extra $25-$30 is worth the stability, coverage, customer service, and other benefits like upgrade eligibility you get with a major carrier. Simple mobile is sold out of hole-in-the-wall shady wireless/kidney stores. It is a T-mobile mvno which to me is kind of ridiculous because T-mobile can barely support its own customers.
Years ago I went cheaper with a Verizon MVNO called Amp'd Mobile. It was cool and cheap at first but quickly became a customer service nightmare. Out of the blue, they went out of business before I could port out my number. One day my phone was disconnected and no one could get a hold of me.
It comes down to you get what you pay for in the wireless industry.
