The first season I can remember in a long time we have had so many young stars come out in the same year like this.
Lots of new names getting all the glory.

My Giants are trying to claw back into the NL West race. D'Backs and Rockies are average. The Dodgers have the talent and the resources to run away with the Division. However as bad as they have been still only being 4.5 back gives them a chance.

4.5 back is still a huge chance - takes a solid streak which happens for quite a few teams in the 2nd half

Activity: 0% Longevity: 88% | | Best Baseball Songs - The 14 Best All-Time Songs About Baseball
As long as the Yankees dont make the playoffs I am a happy camper all around.
First year I can remember so many fans being excited about baseball like it once was.
We went to many spring training games and the stands were full. Now we git a few Rays games and fans are everywhere. Even those who are not Rays fan filling the stands.
Nice to see this happening.
I think the young stars are bringing back many fans who stop coming out because of the Al Rods-Mark McGwires of the world using roids.

Also, one of the best coaches I have ever watched. He is fantastic and knows the game well.
Up there with Sparky Anderson, Larussa, Herzog, Torre, McKeon, Leland etc.

Look at some of his songs after he left CCR. Awesome.

I mean I know they won twice in the 90's with some stacked teams. But what was the last year they where even close to making the playoffs? Like being a Pirates fan playoff wise I imagine except they haven't won anything I don't think since the 1970's.
I have sympathy because my Giants were terrible for in SF for 50 years. Got close a few times but ultimately let everyone down. Also being a Warriors fan before this year. 1 playoff team in 25 years when over half the league makes the playoffs.

@vogeltron, funny thing is I'm not really a fan of the Jays per say...but they're the only team in town for baseball so...yeah have to cheer when friends invite or whatever.
MY team was and always will me the Expos...RIP. Terrible loss for Montreal.

One day after I post about the roids being used Braun is a goner.
He thought he was untouchable and did not realize he would be checked again.
I am all for every single player like Sosa, McGwire, Bonds all having their records removed from basballs record books.
A Rod should be next.
They need to start dropping them like flies to send a message no more cheating.

No awards should be given to a cheater.
Like Bonds records, all need to be removed.
McGwires as well.
Remove them and give awards they wont and spots on the records to deserving people.

They need to start dropping them like flies to send a message no more cheating. | Maybe we should remove all pre-Jackie Robinson era records too because they refused to play with black players. Everyone who took and upper or greenie's that use to be passed out in clubhouses. Lets also take away all the records for the newer ballparks that moved in the fences. Either way you look at it you can not compare one era to another. While many of the rules are the same the game has changed dramatically. You can't just single out steriod users. Not to mention it is hard to remove records like Clemens and Bonds who never tested positive for anything.

That runner up to the MVP award is complaining - trying to get them to strip Braun`s MVP.

Cheating is difference then pre Jackie Robinson. That is a different issue.
Bonds and McGwire both were using it and we all know it.
As a lifetime baseball fan standing next to McGwire many times my husband was as big as him overall and just as muscular. This would be late 80s and early 90s.
By mid to late 90s standing beside him again McGwires neck, head, arms, forearms all grew to being huge, signs of steroids.
Bonds, it has been noted his head went from size 7 hat to size 10 or something from 1990 with the Pirates to when he was in SF. Another sign of steriods.
Bonds avg 25-30 HR a year for all those years and then all of a sudden can hit 70, 65, 60, etc etc.
When McGwire broke the HR record he missed the ball by a mile, poor sloppy swing and it still went out of the park. Replay the video, his swing was late and he topped the ball.
I am a fan of Clemens, followed him for years so I never said remove his records at all. Probably one of the best all time.
I do agree no testing was ever done but wow, guys like Ken Griffey who actually played hurt all those years and would have passed them easily without the injuries.

Since he was caught and more then once he needs to have a lifetime ban and his records removed completely from all MLB records.
Al Rod will go down and if any former or current major league player who used the same substance or trainer all should be canned.
This cheating has to be stopped and now before it just ruins baseball which is on an upswing in popularity.
