You are correct Aspkin....
Greg, actually, we are going to run out. When we reach 1 billion cars, the world cannot produce enough oil. Another real problem is that our Western countries are importing from countries not friendly to us. All it would take is a couple of terrorists attacks on Saudi Arabian pipelines or an attack in the Persian gulf, and the price could double again.
And yes, there are many families in America who cannot afford the prices. You need to understand that the United States is not developed like Europe for mass transit. Also, when gas doubles like it has here in the past three years, everything increases in price. Food, clothing, electricity, etc....
We are all suffering due to the prices. Look to British Air and Virgin airlines.....
However, my whole point was that instead of "whining," we actually do something about it. Aspkin is on track, looking at the motorcycle.
And to boost, we might just save the planet. I really cannot imagine what the air will look like in 13 years with one Billion cars spitting out exhaust. It would be like sitting in my garage with the door closed and running my car..... By the way GREAT discussion and points made by everyone.... |
