Default matched betting

Anybody ever tried matched betting?

I did it a few years ago made a decent bit of money. Since then I've moved house, and thought I'd try it again. Lost my spreadsheet and can't remember any usernames etc so will be starting afresh.

Has anyone ever implemented stealth practices here?

I have done matched betting for years. Great way to earn an extra few £1000 a year. Bet365 horses was and is the best for this, used with Betfair.

Cannot really do stealth with it though as they will ask for the Driving Licence or Passport numbers and they can then check them against a database. They will not pay out if they cannot get a 100% ID for you

I might just try my luck then with real details, but with my new (real) address, new bank and card (after all I have plenty of them lol) they might not realise its me.

Don't think I ever gave my PP or DL to anyone, but was a few years ago I can't fully remember.

I never got into the horses, stuck with football as that's what I knew.

I'm so annoyed I've lost my spreadsheet, I can't even remember my email address or username or anything for Betfair.

I know some dates from Quidco, so I'm trawling through another forum trying to find posts I made!

If you give BF a ring they may be able to help you track it down. If you have the same computer you can also try looking though your cache. May be able to track it down that way yourself.

In a nutshell-

Basically open a BetFair account and lay all the bets you place with the bookie.

You will break even with each bet, but then when you use a free promotional bet, if you win you have it in cash in your bookie account, if you loose you have it in cash in your Betfair account.

But you have to be careful with t&c's, ensuring you make sure you qualify for the free bet, and know if your stake is returned or not, etc, etc

There's a few forums and sites dedicated to it, the one I used (if I'm allowed to mention it?) is moneysavingexpert

If you get really good you can also find bets on the betting websites at say 6.5 and lay it off at 5.5 and make a tidy profit across the entire race/game.

Arbitrage betting is another thing that can be done. Takes a lot of time and patients, as well as fact maths or a very well written excel file. Ideally both

It is all mathematical. No gambling at all. Its a case of just turning the odds in your favour.

I would not ever know where to start with an e-book. Something to look at after Christmas maybe.

There's plenty of websites dedicated to it now. One I found does everything for you from claiming cashback, to finding the game with the best odds depending on if your placing a qualifying bet or your free bet.

Don't recall there being that many before, but I never really looked.

I need to get into e-books in general.

Around a year ago I actually tracked down ever bookie registered to trade in the UK, Aus, Germany, France, USA, Canada and a few other countries. I then went systematically though every website to see what their offers were. Took well over 2 months. I have to say that the yanks have some mega mega deals available. Well over $4000+ in match bets available on some of the websites. Really would be a very good way to raise the funds to start being able to eBay (its one of the ways that I raised funds)

Nice. That's the reason I'm doing this - to raise some cash for more stock now I've got a few stealths with good limits.

Just made about £100 in day one, the biggest hold up is waiting for the games to play out. Some crazy cash back deals. Deposit and stake £10 and I get £20 cash back and a £20 free bet!

If you ever feel like sharing that list you made, it would be put to good use

ohh which one is that? Might be a good read one evening to start looking at it. I certainly need more money to invest in stocks, I'm doing it now but its too slow and even considered some temp evening work to get the cash in but this would be much more enjoyable!

No more betting for me.

I was bet on football like 5 years and before that. First is just for fun but it set into my blood or something and can get out. In 2007 I lost my job, my big family don't get along with my wife and kids even that we are the one to support my parents on everything.

I feel sad and nothing I can do, my wife tried the best she can but thing still happen. Small thing keep build up. I kill my time more in the gamble sh!t till I lost my 2nd house that I bought for my parent, lost one of the busy beauty salon, 1 BMW and 1 Lexus. I almost lost my main home.

And I also almost lost my wife.

After that I promise myself that never gamble by all mean. Not even bet for lunch at work or anything. If someone want a lunch from me, I will pay for it but I'm just not betting anymore.

Five years pass now and I fell great for not worry about the spread, the point, the scores......

I now enjoy with my small family, hang around with the kids.

Ahhh, why I tell this story.............. Just want to share part of my pass

Glad to see that you have gotten over it.

Gambling addiction is very hard to get over, so kudos you to Tony.

But simply to reiterate, matched betting isn't actually gambling. The result of the race or match does not matter, its done in such as way that means that the outcome is irrelevant - You know the exact profit that you will make as soon as the bet is placed.

A simple way to demonstrate it is

You back £100 at 6
You lay £100 at 6

Race ends and you loose the exact same amount you win

You then get a free bet for say £100 again

You back this at 2 for £100 (the free bet).
You lay this at 2 for £102.56
5% commission paid to the lay site

You will then get £97.44 profit regardless of the outcome of the game or race.

Well done on making it this long.

I strongly suggest, with all kindness, that you don't even contemplate match betting as even though it's technically not gambling, it's a massive temptation you could do without, and it probably won't look good explaining it to your loved ones.

Good explanation, James. Remember to add the cashback on too.

@tmastermind, check out Free Bets | Matched Betting | Online Bookmakers | Freebets4all. But I've since found the cashback offers to be few and far between (after all, what bookie in their right mind would do a cashback deal with a website that promotes this!?).

Try topcashback, you'll get about £20 for each bookie, plus the average of £20 per bookies profit (so that's £40 per bookie). Then you'll need an exchange at BetFair for now.

Look at the referals thread on moneysavingexpert, people there will do a 'refer a friend' to you for topcashback and betfair (as well as most other things) and then give you a good part of their commission.
