I'm so mad that I sold google off too early... had them when they were at $500 and sold them for $100 gain per share, could have been a $600 gain per share but yeah i think google stock is just going to keep soaring, i think their internet + tv + phone packages will be huge when it comes out of beta testing in small markets

Google is solid. Amazon is the stock that I see a big short potential in. They have essentially zero profits in tangible goods. They make money on digital download sales which isn't even close to the valuation. I use Amazon myself I am a prime member. Not dissing the service. But as far as the profitability of the company and the share price. Way over valued by my estimation. They have massive volume of sales but the margins are essentially zero. Right now they are basically a non-profit. Who would pay this crazy premium for that?

Yeah Netflix has been all over the place, I saw it on Tuesday morning after that huge rise and thought about shorting it. Somehow the day just got away from me and by close time it was already too late.

It has been pretty positive overall. I started doing it about 2 years ago and, at first, I was pretty selective about the stocks I wanted to short. After doing it for awhile I have found my stock "niche". I just try to find certain scenarios that, in the past, have had similar outcomes and usually I can get my required return.

I would say the most important thing I do is find good, reliable news sources and constantly stay up to date. There are just so many opportunities but finding the ones that I feel confident enough to invest in seems to be the hardest part.

Do you have some experience shorting?

I usually go long for the holds - that being said, am slowly getting back into ETF trading - fast gains but can't be held for long time.

I haven't done much shorting in a long time so I need to research a bit more if I want back into this aspect of stock trading.

I tried installing a stock platform on my work computer but (haha) don't have admin rights to run it bah
