Default Do any of you operate your own Retail Websites?

If so what program do you use? I've been looking around online for various ones and so far have come across, yahoo, shopify and volusion. I have lots of repeat buyers on ebay so I want to build a retail site and start directing them to it via flyers in my packages.

I know I cant completely forsake ebay since its got the broadest customer base but I want to move as much business from it as possible the number of buyers scamming me is growing everyday with everything from people returning items that didnt fit without contacting me first, since my listings and return policy say no returns for fit, they return without contact then as soon as they see the package has arrived at my po they open an item not described case and I am left with no choice but to refund, to people opening not as described cases and returning items that are different from the ones I sold them, buying a new one from me and returning and old faded one, you name it. Dealing with clothing on ebay has gotten very frustrating. and I want to get away from it if I can and have more control.

Any experience or recommendation from others would be great.

I use open cart, its a good platform, its not the best as there are small bugs here and there, which takes a long time for them to fix... but overall its not bad at all.

If you are looking for the best, then its probably Ecommerce Software & Ecommerce Platform Solutions | Magento

do a bit of research to see which ones suits you best!

Volusion is a good option in the sense that it has a lot of advanced features and buyers really like it. It is probably as close to an Amazon type website as you can get without spending a trainload of money.

I agree with Jeffweico. I've used Volusion and like them a lot. They also have an eBay and Amazon integration feature so you can host all your stores from one if that's what you want to do.

Like mrgrazer says, Magento is the best open-source ecommerce software, but requires a lot more web development knowledge compared to Volusion, which is a hosted ecommerce platform.

Good luck!
