Too much hype about Manziel so you can expect the GM would bend

Word I am reading is Browns are talking to top 3 teams arranging a deal to get Bortles for sure. Then put out the word they are looking at Manziel and McCarron. What gives?

Browns have no one to offer a team for a higher pick.

Browns would be fun to flip their losing seasons

Re: 2014 NFL Season

Oakland just traded Terrelle Pryor to the Seahawks.

What a mistake. Seattle is getting a very athletic QB who can work in and around Wilson and give them even more explosive offensive weapons.

Re: 2014 NFL Season

50/50 chance Pryor even makes it out of camp, his salary is not guaranteed and the Seahawks like to bring in guys to compete. He has to beat out Tavaris Jackson and/or BJ Daniels to even make the team.

Unless you are going to use him in a Wild Cat formation or try to convert him to another position. I don't think he makes the team. Very athletic but stares down his WR. There are plenty of these run around college guys that when they get to the NFL can't play from the pocket. Pryor is another one.

Re: 2014 NFL Season

Nothing wrong with staring down the WR...if you connect

Re: 2014 NFL Season

Pete Carroll is one of the best and like Belichek he sees players who can do things to help the team.

Exactly with the wildcat! Seattle will need another edge if they think they can compete to win it this year.

I still dont believe they were the best team last year but they got the trophy.

They caught Denver flat footed and Denver has improved all over the place and Seattle is trying to make sure they make more moves to improve or add.
This is why I think they added him.

If he does not make it they are not out anything.

Jackson is not much of a threat nor a good backup.

Denver is definitely going at it hard

Vince Young signs with the Browns. Tells me Browns are up to something.

About time the Browns go for the power shift.

Like the Bengals they have wasted top picks on poor choices and it shows.

Didnt see what the Bengals were up to in the off season...

Re: 2014 NFL Season

Chiefs interest me the most. Andy Reid in Philly for years built a team that got to the NFC Championship team 5 times through the draft. Their free agency teams "Dream Team" imploded. And the Terrell Owens the one big add to his early 2000's teams was a disaster.

Interested to see how they fill in for McCluster, and try to sure up that defense.

I swear Marvin Lewis must have some serious dirt on the Owner. How has this man kept his job for this long. They have been decent in recent years. But all the **** in the Palmer and Ochocinco days. He should have been canned years ago. Not to mention how they crapped the bed vs the Chargers in the playoffs this year and the past two years.

I agree. How he has stayed on is beyond most people in Ohio who follow the Bengals.

I was talking about when Andy Reid ran the Eagles. The times they went and signed a bunch of Free Agents, Asante Samuel, Terrell Owens, etc. They had problems. When they built through the draft they did much better.

Reid is very good at finding solid players in the Draft. That was my point.

He is one of the best along with Pete Carroll and Belichik who can spot players for roles they need.

Yup all three have done amazing jobs building teams through the draft and signing unknown players nobody else wants. (Belichick especially).

I am not a huge Tom Brady fan but if you look at this record as QB. One 9-7 season all other except the year he got hurt has won 10 games or more. That is ridiculous. In the era of Free Agency and Salary cap, nobody has kept things together for such a long time like Belichick and the Patriots.

He should be the first for sure. Then the rest is going to be a dog fight.

I stated last month he should go no 1 and posted my sleepers.

CJ Mosely is another sleeper who should be way up in the draft or used as bait.

Manziel will be shocked if he goes 12-16 range. Why would Dallas want him?

Bortles could be a trade bait issue also for someone at the top.

I dont think this draft is real deep at all. But 10 really good players at the top and then is really drops off.

Sandy D 05-08-2014 10:30 PM

Re: 2014 NFL Season

So the experts were all wrong completely.

They said QBs would fill the top 10. Did not happen.

Glad to see Bortles go at 4.

Poor Manziel way down at No 22.... LOL He thought if he left early he would be a top pick.

Bills got a great WR.
Giants got a speedster.
Ravens got CJ Mosely which I think is the best LB in the draft.
Dallas picking and OT is odd.

vogeltron 05-09-2014 02:20 AM

Re: 2014 NFL Season

Bortles was definitely the most solid QB in the draft. Jags just gotta find a way to protect him. If they are smart they should sit him the first half of the season. Why throw him into the wolves when the team is horrible.

Wouldn't be surprised if Carr is taken early by the Texans in the Second round.

Interesting draft - Manziel at 22...that was about right.

Going to a small school like Frenso State never helps.

Honestly, I think his older Brother being a flop in the NFL. Has lots of teams gun shy about taking him to high in the draft.

Your 49ers just picked up a good strong RB in Carlos Hyde.

And a steal with Chris Borland from Wisconsin.

Re: 2014 NFL Season

They must have traded pick 96 to Cleveland.

97 coming up.

If the 49ers were smart they would grab AJ McCarron at 100.

Their best move today may have been trading for Stevie Johnson. But anything to get Kapernick outta there I am all for.

Will be interesting to see if the Texans trade for Mallet. He always have the arm and size to be a NFL QB. Plus Bill O'Brien I believe worked with him for at-least one season in New England.

Even Lebron James would crush Manziel.

Cleveland is selling season tickets in record numbers.

What are we missing?

I think the Bengals get an absolute steal with AJ McCarron.
