It was a nailbitter as a Giants fan. 31st blown save of the Season. They really need to pony up and get a closer during the off-season. Moore vs Lackey will be interesting match up. Two quality pitchers. Obviously I am hoping for a Cueto vs Lester Round 2.

I actually thought Cubs would sweep - like the Jays and Indians did. But Giants might actually push it to 5 games...if anyone can do it, it's those tenacious Giants hah

Giants have won 10 straight elimination matches - keeping this game tight too - will be something if they come all the way back (Cubs just tied it with a homer though)

Apparently I predicted the downfall for my Giants. Bullpen has been garbage the entire year. Epic collapse there in the 9th inning. I feel robbed as a baseball fan a Game 5 with Cueto vs Lester rematch would have been Epic.

Giants failed indeed - elimination streak over :( that collapse was too weird. I was also looking forward to Cueto vs Lester - when Moore hit that basehit to score midway in the game I thought it was going Giants way.

It was a bad loss. But I agree, I do think the Cubs would have won Game 5 at home in Chicago. But as a Baseball fan I feel cheated out of a Lester vs Cueto winner take all Round Two after the first one was so amazing. I think it would have matched the Bumgarner/Syndergaard epic winner take all wild card shootout.

Heading to Cleveland for Friday game vs. Jays - if I feel the urge, I will stay for Saturday too

Vibe was amazing in Cleveland - yes Jays lost (which sucked) but Cleveland was popping post-victory. A good game nonetheless

In my opinion it will be Indians vs Cubs in the World Series. It just seems like year the teams that haven't won in 50+ years will battle it out. For your Blue Jays I hope I am wrong. Also as much as I hate the Dodgers I want them to beat the Cubs for knocking out my Giants. Painful ending to the season. Worse than Jose Cruz Jr dropping a Pop Fly yet winning the Gold Glove and Felix Hernadez giving up the Cookie to Scott Spezio.

If the Cubs can get in it will be an interesting series with two teams that haven't won the world series in a very long time. I do think if Kershaw comes through in Game 6 than Game 7 will be a toss up.

Game 6 is huge in so many ways - Kershaw is killer. Either way, I don't think Cleveland can beat any of the NL teams that come into the World Series...

It's been a wild historic ride in the World Baseball Classic for Team USA.

It was sick to see Hosmer smash a two run homer against Venezuela and Duffy pitch a stellar game facing the Dominican Republic to see them avoid elimination.

Also seeing Adam Jones rob his team mate Manny Machado. I'm glad to see them reach the final four now they just need to beat the slants tonight.

I am not into the WBC much because of March Madness in effect but I have seen some decent highlights...it really needs to be marketed more

Every game is way more critical in this short 60 Game COVID MLB season with a little over half of it gone.

It feels weird watching the highlights of games with the stadiums completely empty.

This shortened season absolutely hurts Albert Pujols chances to break anymore records he is the only one that has a chance to catch anyone near the top of all time career stats that's actively playing anyway. Except of course Mike Trout and Bryce Harper but they sure got a long way to go and would have to stay consistent and not dope.

I love how Pujols passed A-ROD in RBI's and passed George Brett in Doubles just the other day.

I'm sure there not going to but they should add 25 games to the next 4 seasons to make up for cutting 100 games in the 2020 Season.

Nice thread revival secret storm :) I keep track on the Jays here and there but the season doesn't have a great feel with the COVID shortened season, for me anyways

Salvador Perez is having a year to remember and definitely his best so far in his career.

Having 38 Home Runs this season with it still not being over yet, Perez has hit 5 HR's in 5 straight games with 2 of them being Grand Slams. No American League catcher has ever hit more home runs in a single season than Salvador Perez.

It will be interesting to see if he will be a one year wonder with the stats that he had this year.

I don't think Mike Trout will be able to surpass all time record hitters now that he played a short 60 game season last year and has been injured almost all this year with him being in his prime years it will be extremely difficult now when so many said he would in the past.

I sure wish after this season or at least until the pandemic is over they change things back to how they were. Having a 7 Inning game when it gets delayed or a double header with two different games played in the same day with each game being 7 Innings really short changes things it doesn't feel like your watching professional baseball.

Along with adding a runner on second base with no outs to start the Inning when any game goes into overtime with extra Innings. All these changes have really hurt the purity of baseball and is no where near as enjoyable now.

The Redsox took care of the Yankees in the Wild-card Game.

It's remarkable that the Giants finished with the best record in the 2021 season and won the NL West just barley edging out the Dodgers when the Giants were projected to be average at best.

It will be interesting to see who goes home later tonight in game 5 of the NLDS Playoffs.

Salvador Perez now has most home runs ever hit by a catcher in a single season with 48 in 2021 and even more than what Johnny Bench and Javy Lopez had in a single season.

Perez also tied the most HR's ever hit in one season as a Royal in 2021 and also tied the most HR's hit in the 2021 season with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

I did see Salvador Perez behind home plate when he autographed a bat when he was on the on deck circle and handed it to some boy.

I was half way tempted to offer the kid money for the bat considering how it was game used and signed by Perez in the year that no Catcher may ever be able to break his home run record but I refused to because I didn't even want to chance taking something away that kid would remember for the rest of his life and was happy with just taking this picture where I was seated at.

Houston we have a problem.....It was the Atlanta Braves.

I'm not a fan of the Braves by any means but I'm glad they won the World Series it was there first championship since 1995.
