Im having a horrible time with my current dilema. Basically my laptop looks to be on its way out, i could get a new one like for like but i fancy upgrading to a tablet because my current situation a tablet would be easier to carry around than a laptop. Basically i need to do various office tasks ie spreadsheet and excel. Also i will be using a printer a lot, currently i have an epson that is wired, i understand i will need to get a wireless one so that's not a problem. Could i please get some advise from users of both regarding use, this would be very helpful so thanks in advance.

I suggest Android (Galaxy) but that's me personally. I have had both iPads and Galaxy (Android) devices. I like Samsung more.

Why not a Windows convertible? Tablet just can't replace the functionality of a real computer. But, with a convertible, you get both...if you don't mind Windows.
If you must have Android, then Samsung runs that arena until the Nexus 9 comes out.

Not Windows tablet...a convertible. That means it can be both and runs full Windows 8.1 or 8.1 Pro.
Full OS functionality plus tablet portability. Android tabs are nice, but it's a mobile OS.

Surface tablet works as both tablet and hook up to keyboard for computer-like use.

You'll need a printer with a printing App.. I think most have this capability now. My Mom recently bought a HP printer and uses the app to print from her android tablet.. she feels fancy. | The Following User Says Thank You to aspkin For This Useful Post:

If you're going to buy an android tablet, i recommend you to stay away from Samsung products. They're overpriced, the build quality is extremely poor (especially the plastic), and their version of Android is extremely bloated.

Sony is the only one who is willing to put the time and quality in.
HTC Nexus 8/9 is the only one I've seen set to be released this year that will have decent build quality as well.

i have Galaxy 3. and already printed something. you need to set up your printer to the same wi-fi network with the same password like the tablet. you need to install the exact app for the printer on your tablet. and you are good to go. very easy. | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to zagy123 For This Useful Post:

I have the iPad mini, samsung note3 and just got the iPad Air, for stealth I'm set on apple , I'd be lost without my iPad
From creating accounts , I have all my apps, phone apps, logs, and spreadsheets, operating I'll usually use Logmein and operate my PC , even at home I'll use it, I like how you can switch between apps , copy and than paste from either the iPad to PC or the other way
I have all my financial Apps , for every bank account and prepaid card attached to all my PayPals
And than the iOS mail center is great , anything that happens you will have an email to tell you
I have a WEMO switch plugged into an outlet and I have my modem plugged into the WEMO
So when using logmein , If I need to switch accounts, I'll open the WEMO app, and than control my PC by switching user accounts log into router settings , I'll change my MAC and as soon as I click apply , I'll switch over to WEMO and just push on and off real fast and just like that remotely my IP is changed
I also use switch , you can create different user accounts on the iPad, not my favorite but it's good of u need to log in just for something simple
I know all this can be done with android and more, but the iPad is much more clean and more simple , and I have every app now that I need to create and operate stealth accounts
Oh and if u use an iPad , Printer Pro great app, if I'm not using logmein where I can just print to my printer from my PC, I can also log into accounts from switch or other browsers
When printing postage I'll go through all the normal steps and after I pay postage the print screen opens, and I'll click the link "open in another page" or something like that from there I'll save the postage as an image and than I can print it at any time when I'm back on my network IP
Not great for massive postage printing but for one or two postages on account 1 and another 1 on account 20, but if u have many postages to print , than I'll use logmein and do everything from my PC through my iPad
