I never understand these sort of posts, of course companies are going to increase their prices. They play as an intermediary between you and your customer. IF your customer chooses to buy online then they must be aware shipping charges are going to be either charged separately or included in the cost of the goods.

EVERYONE knows year on year these couriers are going to increase their prices, it's just business, they have a captive audience. This means you increase your prices in line with this, it is nothing new and will not stop.

I posted this information so other sellers would be aware of the increased rates (% of increase and home delivery surcharge increase) and could adjust their shipping charges, if necessary, after the first of the year. Example: a $25.00 + $2.90 home delivery charge ($27.90 total) before 1/5/15 will increase to $26.22 + $3.10 ($29.32 total) after 1/5/15 ~ a $1.42 increase. Granted, this isn't a huge increase but does add up when shipping a lot of packages.

Increasing charges for various products/services necessary to run a business are part of doing business but so is proper planning and adjustments.

I do use FedEx for heavier shipments because they're less expensive than USPS and UPS.

I don't use it myself. But, I like to be informed what happens in USA and UK, because it's important and can affect business anywhere. I have friends who use FED EX so I feel sorry for them.
