| solefoodbk | 01-01-2015 06:41 PM | how to print shipping labels the easy way I've been using a standard inkjet printer. I have to cut the paper and tape each lable on each package. (time consuming)
What printers do you guys suggest for high volume printing (specifically for shipping labels).
P.s I'm talking about where you peal off the label like a sticker... |

buy a refurbish for a couple hundred dollars on ebay. | That works for printing usps shipping labels, correct? Thats right around my price range and doesn't look massive (which is a good thing). |
yotano211 | 01-01-2015 07:40 PM | Re: how to print shipping labels the easy way I use a zebra LP 2844 thermal printer and a laser printer for international labels. The Zebra printer I use on 98% of all labels.
I got it used some years ago on ebay for less than a hundred with 1000 labels included. |

yankee | 01-01-2015 07:44 PM | Re: how to print shipping labels the easy way LP2844 4X6
click, 'print label' on top right hand side select, 'Printer and label receipt preferences'
and then select LP2844 4X6
Foolproof printer and holds 500 label rolls. |

solefoodbk | 01-01-2015 07:46 PM | Re: how to print shipping labels the easy way Yikes thats 400+ for LP 2844 thermal printer? Do thermal printers not use ink? I need to read up on these... |

Download a driver(whatever the ebay seller recommends is usually best) and plug and play. All of the ebay sellers I have dealt with offer EXCEPTIONAL service, by-the-way, even remotely setup if needed for free(no need, but has happened, lol)
Servicing a thermal printer every few years is changing the thermal roller or running a cleaning label. They are pretty much indestructible. |

I also have as a back up plan, I purchased those little shipping label envelopes that are like the ups ones, and if I have to print something on regular paper outside of my office, I use that to put label in rather than taping it on, always seems the tape gets wrinkled and I worry a label won't scan........ |
krose1162 | 01-01-2015 08:15 PM | Re: how to print shipping labels the easy way might have to think about one of those zp500's though, a lot more cost effective in the end it seems, checking them out on ebay now :) |
solefoodbk | 01-01-2015 08:47 PM | Re: how to print shipping labels the easy way very interesting how it doesn't use ink. just watched a video about them. defiantly plan on buying that zp500 tonight! thanks yankee! |

For about 9 months of 2014 I only used the laser printer for the labels. I had issues with the Java driver, it wasnt printing from the Zebra printer. But everything is now fixed and saving some extra pennies and time on not using the laser printer.
I see lots of Zebra 2844 on ebay for less than $100. Just need to keep looking and be fast when you see a good deal. |
