how to print shipping labels the easy way

I've been using a standard inkjet printer. I have to cut the paper and tape each lable on each package. (time consuming)
What printers do you guys suggest for high volume printing (specifically for shipping labels).

P.s I'm talking about where you peal off the label like a sticker...

That works for printing usps shipping labels, correct? Thats right around my price range and doesn't look massive (which is a good thing).

I use a zebra LP 2844 thermal printer and a laser printer for international labels. The Zebra printer I use on 98% of all labels.

I got it used some years ago on ebay for less than a hundred with 1000 labels included.

Any labels. Fedex, UPS, USPS. If you are printing off ebay, USPS only. Click printer settings select Lp2244(I think) and print quick and efficiently :)

Re: how to print shipping labels the easy way

LP2844 4X6

click, 'print label' on top right hand side select, 'Printer and label receipt preferences'
and then select LP2844 4X6

Foolproof printer and holds 500 label rolls.

Is this because international labels look differently (size wise) ?

Nothing wrong with this printer either. Just older.

No ink. Print several thousands of labels before any maintenance of any kind is needed.

If I bought one of these off ebay, who services it? Do you talk to directly to the manufacture if I bought the one you recommended?

It is exceedingly easy. Download a driver(whatever the ebay seller recommends is usually best) and plug and play. All of the ebay sellers I have dealt with offer EXCEPTIONAL service, by-the-way, even remotely setup if needed for free(no need, but has happened, lol)
Servicing a thermal printer every few years is changing the thermal roller or running a cleaning label. They are pretty much indestructible.

These are around $100-129 or even cheaper on ebay auctions. go with the zp500 it replaces the lp2844 for around $150-180

I just installed the printer to computer, then print the 4x6 labels. These are the labels that are two to a sheet, not a roll.

I also have as a back up plan, I purchased those little shipping label envelopes that are like the ups ones, and if I have to print something on regular paper outside of my office, I use that to put label in rather than taping it on, always seems the tape gets wrinkled and I worry a label won't scan........

might have to think about one of those zp500's though, a lot more cost effective in the end it seems, checking them out on ebay now :)

I just cant get USPS international labels to fit on those 4x6 thermal labels. I print all labels from ebay.

For about 9 months of 2014 I only used the laser printer for the labels. I had issues with the Java driver, it wasnt printing from the Zebra printer. But everything is now fixed and saving some extra pennies and time on not using the laser printer.

I see lots of Zebra 2844 on ebay for less than $100. Just need to keep looking and be fast when you see a good deal.

Re: how to print shipping labels the easy way

I been using an epson workforce 435 and workforce 610

My plan originally when I started 3 years ago was to wait until my printer died and get a thermal , but Epson makes a great printer and it's still going strong after tens of thousands of labels printed

So I recently just added a workforce 610, and that works great , have them all connected in my home network with all my PCs Laptops and IPads , I purchase the labels in bulk so I end up getting 100 labels for under $3 when I purchase thousands

And I just sell the labels in small increments from 10 up to 30 Labels or 5 up to 15 sheets

The price I sell 20 labels for is more than it cost me for 100 so In the end I get my labels and ink for free, and it makes a great selling item that always gets positive feedback and they sell at 100% , and I purchase ink for almost nothing from Amazon

I only need the ink for postage so I'm not worried about how all the colors look because all I need is black for postage which comes out nice and dark

For $12 I can get like 24 cartridges which reloads the printer 4 times with every color

If u purchase the name brand it comes to $56 for every color, so buying generic saves a ton and for its purpose there is no need to purchase the brand name

Re: how to print shipping labels the easy way

So before I buy my thermal printer...

There aren't any thermal printers that can print out a international shipping label correct?

I'm willing to spend some extra money if thats possible but the ones under 200 seem not to able to.
