Amazon sales on UK, too slow compared to eBay?

Hi guys,

I would like to know your opinions about Amazon UK, I´ve been selling on ebay UK for years and started almost one year ago on Amazon UK but sales are really, really slow compared to ebay... it doesn´t even worth to run the account! Or perhaps I´m doing something wrong?

Any experiencies?

In my experience it all depends on what you are selling.

In my major categories on ebay, amazon is about 1/500th the traffic. Literally I sell more in one week on ebay during the busy season than an entire year on Amazon.

With that being said other categories sell FAR AND AWAY better on amazon.

I´m curious which categories are those that would be best for Amazon? I guess electronics and books?

Most categories are better on amazon or similar in sales.

Thanks yankee, I take you are talking about Amazon US. I´m afraid Amazon UK might be a different story.

It is to a certain degree BUT there is a reason Amazon is the bigger and stronger selling platform for the past several years.

We have been selling on ebay UK for 6 years and started on Amazon UK around 3 years ago, in ratio sales are 4x greater on Amazon UK than on ebay, this last year ebay has been doing something to their site which seems to be pushing our items further down the pages when customers search for an item. Amazon are *******s with rules, etc and do not want to listen to sellers in case of a problem, but sales & traffic wise you can't match them
