I Hate windows.

I hate it. I hate it I hate it.
My kids got mini laptops for christmas. The younger one got the Eee the older one got a acer. The acer came with Mcafee but still after a week had several serious virus so bad that it took out mcaffee and the internet.
Then my son asked me if he can download torrents on his computer. Yeah ok. The kid that clicks on every pop up. "look mom I won a x box360" Thats my son, Thinking he personal mail on every website he clicks on.
So I put anti virus on my daughters because i know sooner or later it will be infested. And It took 2 hours to get my sons computer straight.
now mind you I am using both these computers, that are not big enough to read emails on for ebay. So Now I am using my mac, and both of there laptops and all of them have ebay accounts of mine Plus tuesday I got a Imac 24" screen. I have to go get.
I go on my mac book write up a listing add pic's five mintues. Use one of the kids computer and its a hour to get one listing done.With all the pop ups and security questions. And the window not responding and the freezing. WHY? One minute I am working and the next the window is gone, it blow away into cyber space never to be seen again. Why?
Just Now my son come to me computer in hand, saying, mom I have no pictures on my computer just words. Gee another virus, great. i would have never guessed it.
I am so sorry But I had to vent, I happened to be here when My son came in with that look on his face.
Please tell me window users how you do it. Even when I had parallels on my mac, it was horrible and slow.

I don't get it either... on my computer I never have problems, everything always runs smoothly, no issues.

With my brother, I have to clean out his computer or reinstall windows it seems once every couple months. And then I work on friends computers as well.

It's like everyone just downloads crap just to download it. Who cares about adware, spyware, viruses.. etc.

I tell them not to install crap from a popup.. but it doesn't seem to help.

Pop ups = bad

Toolbars you don't need = Bad..

Shady programs = Bad..

etc etc

In the virus world..... Macintosh RULES ~ I have 5 of them and woudl NEVER use anything else by choice.

siashay, How old is your kids?

Porn... Porn... Porn.... is mostly 80% of Spyware/Malware/Viruses I think.

I always tell my nephews to hit "Alt + F4" to close any windows that they did not open. I told them about the Porn websites too and I redid their computers 2 times already and if it happens again then they have to deal with the spyware/malware/viruses. I haven't had to redo their computers for over a year now.


It all depends on the users. I have windows and I don't have any problems with spyware/adware/malware/viruses. Everything starts and runs pretty fast. I only have 1 virus protection running which is Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition with Unlimited Updates.
