GB, if we lose to Iceland, he will be a goner for sure. | Hey just_smile, last time I looked tonight, Iceland were 2-1 up on us!, so I guess they have been putting a bit more into tonight's match than our lot have, mind you that probably would not be difficult, we pay out footballers way to much for crap skills! Oh I forgot about their penalty taking lack of skills as well, if anything goes down to penalty shot we always lose!

Just few defensive teams who set up to play on the counter attack because they understand that England has weak points on the sides. Teams just need to soak up the pressure and keep the back line nice and compact, invite pressure and wait till England push Walker/Rose high up- Possibly waiting for an overlap.
Once they see Walker/Rose out of position, they just try to force any kind of mistake and feed the ball from middle of the park, to the wings.
If you look at the teams that England has played against, thats exactly how they set up- Nobody has tormented England with their true strikers. The dangerous moments have always come from the wings, when the wingers either cross from the right, as Walker is pretty out of position most of the time, or when they step in from the wing and play between Cahill and Rose.
The way to exploit England team is to play the wings and cut in- Very similar to how teams play against Liverpool because Moreno doesn't have enough experience as a defender and he is constantly out of position.
I'm super happy that England are out.
Its just further evidence that Roy is quite possibly THE worst manager I've seen during my lifetime.
He probably one of the best England squads I can remember- Almost every position is top3 PL positions.
All the players are young and have energy and if you look at the teams that he played... Its basically Spurs and Liverpool, thats all.
One game you have Studge, Hendo, Lallana, Sterling and Hendo playing- Basically a Liverpool midfield and strikers.
Next game you have Kane, Alli, Dier, Walker, Rose- A Spurs midfield and strikers.
You are talking about TOP strikers and very, very strong midfield. And what did Roy do with them? Made them play like Fulham back in 2009.
Honestly, I feel like a random fan from FIFA2016 online forum could put together better plan for England team.
I was rooting for Croatia because they are always my favourite underdogs- This year they had superb squad.
Now I'm rooting for Italy, because Buffon might be up there with one of my favourite footballers ever. He is right up there with Henry, Zidane, Gerrard and Cannavaro. |

I just woke up and remembered how bad England was. It'll be a lovely day today, reading all the hate online- I love when England lose, people are ready to take things to the next level.
Pathetic performance. Lovely stuff.

| Please tell me you're joking, maybe you were watching a replay from 1970.
It has to be the worst performance (yet again) I have seen ever and I know I am not the only one to say that.

Well last nights performance was one of the worst I have ever seen from a professional team. And I supported man United under David moyes...
They couldn't pass 5 yards, control the ball, beat a man or even take a half decent corner/free kick. Watching it I just had a feeling of disbelief.

Iceland fort crying out loud!, they only have one professional player in their entire team!, and they still beat our overpaid idiots!, embrassing or what, at least Hodgson has resigned already, that is the only good thing about it.

Probably the worst I've ever seen England play considering who we were playing. Our players always play crap for England, same as the golden generation 10-15 years ago.
Kane,Stirling,Hart,Ali all had terrible tournaments Quote:

Yes, THAT squad was very good and they all went on to have world class careers but on that photo they were very much at the same stage as current "top" youth players- Out there to prove themselves.
England should have changed managers after Brazil. They should have hired a person who would have coached the players, not managed them.
Rodgers would have been great manager for them because he has worked with the youth and he knows international football. He likes to coach players and get more out of them.
England players are so young that you need someone to work with them and Mr. Owl has never had a good track record of "producing" players from youth teams.
Shame, as these players will again waste their international potential... The same way many have done before them. Just very typical England.

Hopefully Wales can hold their own against Portugal - Portugal almost lost the last one.
Germany vs France will be a fun one - if Germany brings out the sh*t they played vs. Italy then they deserve to lose...
