Dislike:
-no alt tags on flags
-certain members of the moderation team (inevitable, can't be fixed)

I just hate when the same questions are asked over and over. This really bothers me, lol. Like just do a google search and you would've found your answer!

Dislike:
- No shop talk in chat box. (its like no sex in the champagne room). I can see where it would be problem with noobs asking questions in there but I think we all come here to talk shop.

- My sub expires in less than 30-days, that sux too...

If I had to be critical, i'd say...

Dislikes
- Moderation has become too lenient, wasn't like this couple years back. However, understandable.

Likes
- The forum does the job. If you're looking to learn and know how to use the search function, it can work wonders. There's so much content. It just works. :thumb:

Have to agree with this.

Under the listed benefits of subscribing it states "Live Forum Chat".

I don't think people subscribe so that they can tell the rest of us what they watched on television last night.

Think the issue with having shop talk in the comment section is that it will take away from the rest of the forum if it ends up being a 24/7 Q&A Session.

The essence of a forum IMO is helping others and sharing wisdom, and by having it in the forum section, someone who comes along few years later can do a quick search and learn. The same cannot be said if this all ends up happening in the chat box.

Furthermore the chatbox only shows name tags, so newbies won't know the credence of the other user who's helping them without vetting each users profile individually. There are some users here who spew nonsense, and you wouldn't want newbies taking away bad advice.

I just see lots of cons to this... but certainly something that can be trialled.

DISLIKE:

1. No shop talk in the chat box. There's literally just a handful of us that ever chat in there, anyway.

2. A moderator who threatens to ban people when they are disagreed with. I find this superbly infantile and self-aggrandizing.

1. The plethora of information that exists here.

Dislike:

1.) No decent holiday decorations on the forum during specific seasons

2.) The Green color for executive/subscribed members

3.) The lack of a credit card section where everyone can give users ideas/methods on how to raise credit scores

4.) Lack of a section where users can pay a fee to resell items on a new marketplace

5.) The inability to delete threads/post

6.) A section detailing ways to make funds outside of auction sites

7.) A section where we can talk about whatevers on our mind

Dislike:

1) No shop talk in chat. I'm always thinking about shop and its convienent/enjoyable to discuss this with other like minded individuals on the fly...Although I do understand for the "greater good" of the forum discussing this in a thread A) reaches and benefits more people B) Benefits the Aspkin site as eccentric discussions are now achieved by web crawlers and grows traffic to the site. Although I still want to have the ability to talk with others in chat regardless...

Like:

1) Everything, love the site and the community and I want to see it grow.

Okay, we can have shop talk in the chatbox. I personally won’t participate though. I originally decided on no shop talk for a couple reasons. One was to get away from shop talk all the time (for me personally); sometimes I need a break. :)

It just allow us regulars to ask a quick question amongst ourselves without fear of moderation, really. I don't see any negatives coming from it.

If a noob comes in with a question that would serve people in the future, we can always direct them to make a thread.

Like: Everything. The knowledge received here and executed on eBay has made me a fortune that I could only dream off a few years ago.

While you're at it, would you take a feature that may be useful but does not currently exist?
Here: Rather than traversing Marketplace --> Accounts for Sale, wouldn't it be nice if buyers could declare their needs in a 'wanted' section under Marketplace?

Forum rules should permit only authorised sellers to contact buyers.

If implemented, this should save time and reduce the number of PMs buyers send to sellers asking for 'items' advertised on sales pages but not currently available or out of stock.

I think it would make things easier for buyer and seller if we had another section as such.

As already implied, there's something inefficient about having ads promoting products and services that are needed or wanted but isn't in stock.
Server resources, wasted time and needless, repetitive exchange via PM.

An alternative would be to encourage all approved sellers to only list what's available in stock. That may create too much pressure for sellers as stock comes and goes.

Implementing a wanted section and policing it would come with challenges - just like all other vital sections of the forum.

The process to source/purchase anything here could do with some streamlining.

- the amount of bad information some people post. some of that **** needs to go. IE the buy bitcoin rants and **** like that......"to the moon"

-the itrader system and product reviews....from an outsider. this seems way broken. it seems like if a person posts a bad review about a product bought threw a person on this site. they are ostracized. I dont understand the need to buy these products but some do and if they get a bad account....its like they are the problem....then more state they got bad accounts too and the thread gets cleaned up like it never happened and it did.

Regardless, thanks for such a great place and the contributions its members make here

i dislike that aspkin thinks its an excellent forum suggestion that we get the website a dark theme on/off switch yet never did anything about it. Now the light color of the website is now burning my delicate christian eyes........i can feel like grinch heart growing with joy to be more human and soft.....my eyes are only accustomed to one color black. need a youtube black version of aspkin forums

I would assume he takes all suggestions and implements them at once. But that point aside, unless the forum has the theme built in (which I doubt), I would assume he needs to go find a theme that fits your requirements, that's also compatible with this version of the forum, then implement it into the forum, and then test to make sure it works flawlessly.

All that takes time. You literally only made that suggestion a few weeks back. Patience can sometimes go a long way. :)
