Stock Pick - AMD

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet to buy AMD stocks right now with the rise of cryptocurrencies specifially Ethereum and Apple's choice to use AMD's Vega in their iMac Pros.

yes loving that Vega news.

btw, saw someone buy nearly 25 gtx 1060/1070s today...and of course everything AMD has been long sold out.

your choice in store is basically 1080 or nothing with how this crap is selling.

A shame that their consumer Vega RX cards are delayed until late July and wont be in stores until September most likely leaving them 6 months at most before Nvidia's Volta makes its first consumer appearance.

I've never seen more than 2-3 gpus in stores. I highly doubt someone would buy that many.

AMD had a huge dip recently... all the more reason to get in on it :)

Though I would still say the stock is a tad volatile.

Lol, you can throw as many ad hominem attacks my way you want old man, but the fact still remains that you're spouting BS. I live near 3 best buys, and there's usually 2-3 video cards on store shelves. If we're talking computer shops, you should've stated that prior, but it's still all made up nonsense.

What the hell happened in year 2000 when AMD spiked to $90 then immediately crashed back down?

I would be cautious as far as any tech company investments in the near term.

Heavily overvalued sector at the moment.

I specifically said AMD and not the entire sector.

I bought that many and more at Microcenter and bestbuy. I bought 24 1060 3gb at micocenter before they had the 2 gpu per person limit, I caused that change. And I bought 36 rx470 4gb over a course of a few days at bestbuy.

Resell?

I think I bought 24cards once, gt 950's....about a year ago. I felt like a criminal....every employee asked 1000 questions. I always keep it simple...I tell them my boss sent me, we have a job coming up ...

No I use them to mine Ethereum with, you dont need to feel anything. At best buy the manager asked me what I'm going to do with so many. I simply said "project" at work, she tried to digger deeper with more questions but I kept saying "project", after the 3rd try she shut up and left.
None of their business wait I'm going to do with them.

One other thing. If RX Vega 56 does perform better than a 1070, despite of a higher TDP, should I upgrade to Vega 56 if it's about the same price as the 1070?
