WTF PHOT is up 111% in like a week. Thinking this might be a pump and dump.

Marijuana in the US is going to be a humongous industry once it gets rolling ::no pun intended ::

Its a win-win for all essentially. States create money out of thin air from taxes on an industry already going on. Jobs are created for growers, suppliers, sellers, wholesalers, franchises, etc. Less people go to prison for worthless drug charges, and the police can focus on drugs that actually hurt and kill people.

I'll be putting $ into PHOT also.

Which "Marjuana" stocks are you interested in. I missed out on Bitcoin when I new about this early on.

These grow shops remind me so much of the 90's when I was a kid. There was independent computer shops all over the place. Then suddenly things changed it became more and more centralized. I see a similar thing with this.

I live in a part of CA. Where these "Hydroponics" shops are all over. It is laughable. Everyone knows what people are doing but kinda turns a blind eye to it.

It's just a craze right now with the company and it's grow operations - as other competitors get settled in, price will level out...might as well capitalize as you can

I still have to do some research into the companies, but I'm personally interested in ones that plan on becoming a chain/allowing franchises. Also, the suppliers of the nutrients and hydro supplies. IMO it's a matter of time before recreational use spreads across the states, considering how lax it has become in even the past decade.

Another big sector to think about is 3D printing too. CES this year had to turn away a record number of vendors in this category, just not enough room!

Re: Stocks

Most of the early money our here in Colorado is being made by the legal dispensaries, which are the only outlets allowed to sell on a retail level. Its all mom and pops. I think the best way to paly it is big tobacco MO. (on a stock level)
The price doubled because the demand increased but not the supply. We've got people coming out here expecting to find roadside stands (not thecase). Still plenty of supply on the black (free) market at about 1/3 the price. Lots of growers but no one is allowed to sell.

Mining stocks get beat up like this again and again and I will keep buying. JPM and company try to manipulate the price much lower by naked short selling and everyone will be out of business. Not to mention the FED already told Germany it would take them 10 years to return the Gold the had deposited at NYC Fed Reserve. Makes you wonder if they sold it all into the market to ease prices?

Puerto Rico Bonds are looking like they are on the cusp of defaulting.

Isnt Washington State going along the trend of legalizing the weed trade too? Or I could be wrong about the state

They passed a ballot initiative back in 2012. Not sure when it goes into effect like Colorado's has.

Re: Stocks

Exited my position in grow life. The run up looked like a pump and dump. Decent net gain overall.

Thinking there are some Junior Mining stocks that have absolutely been clobbered the past few years. The are screaming buyout from some of the larger mining corporations. Put a few GTC trades in on these today.

The way most stocks have just gone up and up and up the last 3-4 years makes me think QE infinity is causing another bubble. Mining stocks are the only class that has continually gotten hammered.

It is my personality, but I like to buy stuff dirt cheap where I see value when everyone else is running from it.

Re: Stocks

Haven't been as active here as when I first started this thread
"Stocks" in which i must say is misleading because what i meant was
"Binary Options"

I focused a lot of my time there learning strategies and the terms ect.
The reason for me not being around here as much and in SFB..

To sum it all up...
I haven't made any big cash yet.

BUT
There is a BIG BUT

It's not because there isn't potential but because there is one IMPORTANT
thing i want everyone who is considering to give it a try to remember.

**YOU NEED TO START WITH A GOOD INITIAL CAPITOL**
If you want to make cash in Binary Options you need good cap.

You can open accounts now-days for as low as $20.00
Honestly... you can do it it to learn... but if you're looking to make some
good cash.. You need start with i would say minimum $500

IMO thats even too low.

Stocks, Options, Forex. In a way it is like going into a Casino and picking which game you want to play.

There is way too much data to analyze and too many
strategies and such for someone to say it is anything like gambling.

If anything it's more like poker. You have to be able to read other traders minds to know where the markets are headed.

I am mostly a sports betting man myself. You watch all the games and strategize all you want. But when it comes down to it. Like looking at an income statement. You are just looking at past results. It can give you an idea of what to expect in the future but nothing is guaranteed.

I agree there are many ways to use statistical analysis to project stock movement. However, there are always exogenous factors that models can't account for.

Either way in my mind it still gambling. But in one form or another I think every decision we make every day is in a sense a gamble.

I made some money with Pier 1 Imports when it dropped to 10 cents. In my opinion you just have to invest in something you fully believe in and then let it sit until it becomes (very) profitable, but cash out the money invested initially to break even when it doubles just in case.

Yea, I haven't followed it in 2016-2017. But I am assuming since they passed measures in all these states there is crazy speculative money slushing around in these things again. Most of them will probably be worthless in a few years.
