I don't know who knows about pingbacks or not. I received one on my blog and it seems to me its just showing me that someone added a link on their site that goes to my blog. Is this correct?

Pretty much yes, but take a look at their site first.

A lot of the time it's a spammer who is trying to trick you to add a link back to their site.

Yeah they added a comment but the comment didn't even show up...I just deleted it but they have my site on their page...guess that can't hurt
