Mercari Stealth Dead
I believe Mercari's stealth is no longer possible. They are now requiring an ID and picture through the app at the point of the first sale when you go to print the shipping label. I see no way to bypass this as they could detect the IMEI and AI detection of your face. |

But what if you don't use the app on your phone and register via desktop...? |

| I always use desktop. They eventually force the user to download the app and go through it for verification. |

| From what I have gathered it is their new "kyc" requirement. I thought it was triggered otherwise, but it is apparently new policy. |

| Even though this won't help your situation, I think they're just shooting themselves in the foot.
They don't have the traffic like ebay or amazon....
They DO have scammers though and it's been increasing. |

But I'm seeing more and more sellers selling higher end products and more inventory now.
So that demographic could change.
What do you reckon is the niches that you're talking about? |

| It was currently until the two stealth accounts I had for months got burned. I just don't see this KYC being bypassed. I tried to contact support and was ignored even with the excuse of not having a smartphone. They just don't care. |

| Support for many of these net sales platforms just seem to be a wash these days - maybe try the social media venues - fb, ig, X...? |

They have been requiring selfie and ID since I can remember. What makes you think they keep this on file? They outsource receipt verifications with another company. Mercari has no internal structure to properly manage these things.
I have reused the same information numerous times and never had a problem. I've also had the 1099k threshold passed every time as well. I've done this from 2019-2025, with my current active account working. However this time I only want to push around 20k sales a year. This is only a backup account for some extra money. Using Mercari for any other means I think at this point is 100% foolish. |

| Thanks, and for the record each time I've had my accounts Mercari had to manually approve my business docs to satisfy the 20k limit. Whenever I input my information it never accepts, so they have to do it manually.
This is with a different EIN, different business, different address, keeping all things stealth maintained, but same SSN each time.
So they technically have had the same SSN each time, same ID, same selfie of me, and never once was I subject to a connection between accounts. |
