I've just been banned from eBid for no reason

I just signed up this morning, paid a full years subs and uploaded my first advert.

Within 1 hr, my account was closed and a message pops up stating that I have been banned and that the ban will never be lifted.

What the fizz is going on!

I am wondering if eBid know that I have been banned from ebay and paypal.

Any advice here would be appreciated.

they wont know that, how could they and why would they care.....
maybe its your goods
ebid is pants anyway

It says on ebid that a full year is $50. Did they at least give you your money back?? That really sucks dude.

Banned from Ebid- that's low, very low. Its a bit like being banned from winning the lottery except you have less chance of making any money on ebid.

me too banned after 15 minute of paying 3 months subscription , now i disputed the paypal deduction . when i call them via phone no body answer , no valid reason for banning me either . i am going to open my own store and purchase traffic .thats the only way .

sorry to hear about this with regards to EBID i have just come onto the site today to get an idea about ebay alternatives and seen these posts. Will proceed with caution.

ebids no good for volume selling. Doesnt get enough traffic.

cubfan11 03-16-2011 11:31 AM

ebid, pretty much useless... I joined months ago and stopped even checking it because there was no action.

Two days ago I got an email from ebid saying I had a question from a potential buyer. Thats one question in four - five months. Waist of time

I wish they would take off though would be great to have a competitor for ebay :(

I signed up for Ebid about 3 weeks ago. Paid the $50 for lifetime membership. I have listed about 75 items with no issues, other that the fact that I have not sold a single thing yet...

Nice thing about Ebid is the fact that after you sign up for the membership it does not cost you a cent to list something, and the final value fee is only 2%. Cheap compared to the alternative.

Problem seems to be that they don't really get a whole lot of traffic on their site.

I also wish that they would take off though, would be really nice to see someone actually compete with ebay.

cobber_gc 04-03-2011 04:14 AM

 You sure you signed up for ebid? or ebay?

Seriously though. That's disgusting. They're just as bad as ebay it seems. I hope they refund your money at least man.

I signed up the other day $50 for life. Just like booted. I regret it though. wonder if I could sell my ebid store on ebay? 5 stores long lease. :bounce:

quicksales seems better than ebid.

ebid sucks big time. They kept removing my listings after doing everything according to their standards. They never send you a removal notice either. I will NEVER go back there again.

What was the outcome of this? Did you find out why you were suspended? Had you had an Ebid account before? Did you sign up using correct information?

jeffweico 04-03-2011 03:01 PM

To the OP... What did you list? You don't have to mention the specific product, but is it in a high-risk category? Is is something that is heavily counterfeited?

jeffweico 04-03-2011 03:04 PM

I just went to their site, and I noticed a few things.

First, ebid.com is a parked domain, you have to go to ebid.net - not a good thing!

Second, out of the 10 auctions featured on their front page, six of them are for merchandise with the ebid logo....

I clicked on Movies & DVD's, and prominently featured on the next page were Laserdiscs, VHS Tapes, Reels (35mm film) and Other. NO DVD's - the most popular sellers. So, anyway, I clicked on the DVD category and the FIRST LISTING that came up was from a new person (zero feedback) selling a box of Star Trek DVD's in packaging that was NEVER legitimately released by the studios. Followed by his or her listings for a bunch of other DVD's that were most likely counterfeit as well.

Also, the main category says they have 150,000+ listings - but there are far fewer actually listed - so the 150,000 figure must be worldwide.

The bottom line is, this looks to me like a half-a**sed attempt to compete with eBay that has NO CHANCE of ever coming close.
