Default Flippa.com- Anyone bought or sold their website on here?

I'm mostly wondering if anyone has bought a website from flippa.com? how did it go? can you give details on your transaction? hows the website doing? do they lie just to sell the website? what payment method is used?
what other information is there?
thanks

I haven't but I'd recommend buying an established site if you can over something new from scratch. Also, I believe site flipping can be very profitable like the property market.

Yes i sell sites on flippa all of the time - Never really bought of there but you can certainly get some great deals - For example you may not know how to design a website and then monetize for adsense - clickbank and amazon - If you got this outsourced it may cost a few hundred - on flippa you could pick it up for under a hundred - If your lucky that is and maybe even with revenue to prove -

Flippa is a good market place but yes if you will be relying on the seller once the sale has been complete then you should ensure the seller will provide support.

I havnt listed any sites for sale on flippa for a little while now and the reason is because the buyers that I got from flippa now get notified when i have a site for sale before I list on flippa - So far every site gets sold to my buyer list before i get to go onto flippa -

Its a good market place and yes website flipping is a lucrative niche

I have used to to purchase sites in the past,

I think some of the sites are "hyped" and "overated" ...

For sure, like anything that's why it's important to be able to separate the wheat from the chaff. What to look for?

HI
Well firstly i would suggest you look for revenue and how the site is currently earning money - this will give a good indication as to how you will earn money from the site - unless of course your buying to change and monetize yourself.

You can expect to pay around 10-12 times the monthly revenue declared - sometimes less and others more -

Yes many sites will come highly hyped however dont forget its a auction site and its down to the buyer to make full enquires - My buyers are very happy wth me and have positive feedback and 100% sold auctions to prove this not to forget the repeat buys.

Personally if i was looking for a website to buy then i would look for a site that I could add extra value to - So as i practice seo for a living I may look for a site that is nicely monetized - a good age on the domain with a good topic - I dont really bother with revenue as i will turn the site into a money making site - Then its up to you - keep or sell

however you will also get many bargains for brand new websites with excellent website designs and domains

just keep looking around

Was that mostly an affiliate or reselling site? What was the other site you didn't have success with and why?

Usual valuation is two and a half times the yearly revenue.

lol i made a deal with the buyer that i would sell it to him if he agreed to buy the supplies from me so i was making 30% profit still with only dropshipping supplies. it was a hassle shipping 50-70 order per day.

I have been spending a lot of time there recently, but I find the sites to fall into 2 categories, super lame WordPress affiliate sites that are worth nothing, or super sweet sites that I would love to own but the price is inflated way too much. I mainly look for sites that are related to what I sell that are established enough where I can either advertise on the site (if it's not too lame) or redirect the URL to my site and cut out the current content completely. So far, I haven't had much luck actually doing it. The reserves on the sites I like are so high, I could spend half of it and Adwords for the same amount of traffic.
