Bans? Anyone try it?

I'm thinking about delving into the world of websites and affiliates...I have no idea what I'm doing yet.

I came across BANS, Build a niche Store. Is this a good place to start?

aspkin 01-10-2008 12:19 PM

Build A Niche store is pretty easy to get going. If you visit their site and click on Member's forum, you can see it's very active and there is a lot of success doing it.

It's very popular especially on the affiliate forums. I'm going to try it out on a couple sites of mine pretty soon, I'll let you know how it goes.

ivegotinfo 01-19-2008 02:22 PM

go join blackhatworld.com and digitalpoint.com forums. and read everything there, then and only then you will know a tiny little bit of information about all this marketing and such. im just starting out too, but aspkin has been pimpin this stuff for a long time. from what i know niche stores are really good for this sort of thing.

Chris Hanson 01-19-2008 03:23 PM

Yeah I'm also building a niche store with out Bans using a regular website builder. But bans is very good too. I just wanted my store customized a little different from BANS. I have a good niche too. Lots of content should bring me lots of traffic which = loads of cash..lol

here is a little trick using Bans, the trick is to get the customer to click on Ebay ads so you will set a cookie on their CPU.. Anytime they buy within 30 days you get the credit!

Hmmm.. What if multiple people do that? Does one cookie overwrite the other or do they all get credit?

Chris Hanson 01-19-2008 03:49 PM

I would think the one cookie overrides, but thats a good question. i'll ask that in my other forum

ivegotinfo 01-20-2008 09:50 AM

thats why you cookie stuff every visitor with all your affiliate links lol

:p

???^^^ Mind your own business..Nothing funny about messing with another person bread and butter. Now how about somebody turn your accounts in for selling counterfeits?? You'll be mad in here complaining saying "I wish they would mind their own". Take your own advice...

And yes u sell counterfeits.. I have your emails stating you do too. And if you want me to, i will post your PM's in the forum for everyone to see

HATAS You two need to stop sipping that hatarade

heather 01-21-2008 08:12 AM

I've been doing a lot of research about it...feel like my poor feeble brain is about to explode! hehe!

I'm definitely going to try it.

ivegotinfo 02-02-2008 10:35 AM

Triflin 02-08-2008 12:39 PM

Update, anyone using BANS?

Just curious if anyone has started using the BANs software and if so what results they have had with it.

Also if you are using something that you feel is better, please do let me know.

I would like to go in this direction but would like input from some of the more experienced people on this forum before I put too much into it. Thanks

Chris Hanson 02-08-2008 01:49 PM

Well I have 1 bans website. i also made another website similiar to bans but without Bans software..

If you promote it right u can make alot of money off a good niche!

Triflin 02-08-2008 02:08 PM

Thanks for your input Chris.

I am really leaning towards doing this. I may try it. The software is inexpensive enough. It beats the heck out of listing on eBay and getting the boot and losing all those potential customers.

aspkin 02-08-2008 02:29 PM

If you don't like it, you can just get a refund. If you do decide to check it out, follow my banner link so I get credit for it. Thanks!

Also I can help you set it up and get you started if you need help. :)

twdell 02-24-2008 02:42 PM

i am thinking about this also. where is your banner link so you can get the credit?

LOL, now that's what I call a hungry affiliate :D

I have had good success with BANS incorporating it into my site. Soon covered the costs of it, and making a nice bit of side profit with it as well.

twdell 02-24-2008 03:24 PM

i was just reading some old posts about sites like BANS, and aspkin said that using their service is a waste of money. he said you won't get ranked very high on a search engine, because everyone who uses BANS has the same looking webpage. he also said the ebay affiliate websites don't bring much money. sorry if i sound clueless, but when it comes to web design i am. i have never even thought about it before, and certainly have never tried it. i don't know the first thing, but most things i have learned were self-taught too.

aspkin 02-24-2008 09:41 PM

Ah yes, I may have said that months ago. But after more research and finding out lots of people are having success with it, I recommend it now.

twdell 02-24-2008 10:46 PM

i would assume that you have to find a pretty good niche that not a lot of people are doing, right?

koalawash 02-24-2008 10:59 PM

That would be my guess.

Wow savahaganda, are you making Chris Hanson a tribute or what, every post you made tonigh boasted him...

GreenBean 02-25-2008 03:47 AM

WTF I am having a beverage alert with these posts.

twdell 02-25-2008 09:51 AM

nice sarcasm. i've seen some posts from some new members that look like they may be someone else. the bad thing is with constantly dropping his name it makes him feel important.

how do i code a banner to get commision.. like if i want to advertise some of my friends products on my website.. is there a way to attach a code or something in order for it to be tracked by cj or clickbank? with out using bans? i signed up with clickbank and am getting ready to sign up with cj.. but what do i sign up for? "advertiser"?
i havent heard much talk on the BANS subject.. anyone have any good experience? if so what would you consider to be "good" and how much advertising did you have to do to achieve it.

aspkin, i got my website published.. yay! i love this forum, when i get some $$ rolling in, i want to donate. is there a donate button somewhere on here? i wouldnt have met some cool people or gotten as far as i have in the short amount of time without this forum. this place is a full of lots of good info and has opened the doors for some new income ideas.

twdell 03-02-2008 02:56 PM

Sign up as publisher. You're going to be an affiliate for other people's products. For CJ and Clickbank.

And BANS is making some decent money on autopilot for a lot of people. If you get a site setup I can show you things to increase profit, etc.

And if you want to donate, the best thing you can do is subscribe to the forum. You'll gain access to the Members area and other guides not available anywhere else.

Thanks and Good Luck!

iwuvmyson 03-02-2008 11:20 PM

whats "decent"? i read you can get a BANS going in 10 minutes.. is this so for a newbie like myself? even if 1 made $100 bucks a month. if i had 20-40, that would be a good income.. but that seems too easy.. and when something is too good to be true, it usually is.
as soon as get cought up on my bills (suspension set me back) i will deff. subscribe AND take you up on your help offer aspkin :).

aspkin 03-03-2008 05:15 AM

I've read a lot about Bans and I've seen a lot of success with it. So much so that I have plans of purchasing it my self and starting up a few sites with it. I already make money as an eBay affiliate. Notice my 'eBay' links throughout the forum? It doesn't make much, but it tells me it works. I'll show you examples once I get my sites up.

ebayvictim 03-12-2008 06:53 PM

Anyone here have a BANS site? Is it just me or is their site having major tech issues. I've been getting an error page for a couple of hours now when I try and go to their webpage.

mantisinc 03-13-2008 01:50 AM

I've got a bans site, and it's fine.
I assume you mean the actual bans websites?

ebayvictim 03-13-2008 05:45 PM

It was the buildanichestore.com website. It was down about 4 hours yesterday afternoon and freaked me out. I was waiting on a fix for 3 sites involving their V3.0 upgrade. Everything was fine this morning, including my sites.

411guru 04-30-2008 10:29 AM

Say, how are you guys doing with bans? How long does it take to make your $97 back? I heard ebay upped commissions recently. I might give this a try if it is noob friendly.

mantisinc 05-01-2008 03:17 PM

Hehe, just posted answer to your Q in the other thread. It depends really, on what the traffic is like to your site. If you get a lot of traffic, not long. I make mine back in about 5 days.

Remember you get £8 per active registration, so it's quick money.

Superpak 06-03-2008 06:10 AM

Has anyone tried advertising their Bans site using adwords?

imthatguy 06-10-2008 12:27 AM

Bans suck now. It is not worth it at all. Ever since they moved the program inhouse, Ebay has been cheating alot of folks

mantisinc 06-10-2008 01:58 PM

I'm doing just as well, if not better with EPN.

Superpak, eBay have just announces some restrictions with using Adwords to promote affiliate products. See their site for more info.

Superpak 06-17-2008 06:17 AM

yeah cant direct link them to ebay.
