Don't be a dumb a$$ like me and think your website will just show up. I had no clue.
I need website for dummies or hire out aspkin for a week (o.k. a month).

The best way to get your website noticed is creating some good backlinks from other sites to it. For example adding links to your signature to your site would be enough to get your site into Google. Not really ranking, but it'll get started. The more quality backlinks you have, the more your site will be noticed and the higher rankings you'll have in google.
