Finally a Market Place that wipes out E-Bay.

So,

This might sound way out there-

An idea just hit me that may sound crazy.
But HEY! People told Igor Sikorsky he was crazy and also told him a helicopter would never fly.

We have a ton of brilliant minded people on this forum.
There is resources for SEO, web programing, desighn and the list goes on..

We all have our "story" of how "unfair" e-bay is and what they have done to us.

With Aspkin at the helm, how can we manage the Stealth Forum into a website that does what E-bay does?

Lets say every member here (who agrees), does a small part.

Then, every day Askipin and his administrators deligate tasks to all of us.

We all get a bit of stock in the company for reimbursment, and either Askipin or one of his administrators START A NEW E-BAY! (Different name, of course).

WHO BETTER TO DO THIS THAN THE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE?!?!?!

I am serious, nobody knows ebay's weaknesses and laws better than the people here.

I'm a newbee to all this, but I can be pretty creative with my thinking.
Just as I have seen with a lot of the people here on this site.

Ebay is HUGE, HUGE.. (I'll say it again) --> HUGE!!
Much bigger than people can imagine.
Even if a new website tapped into a tiny percentage of what ebay has, it would be massive.

All the way through still doing stealth..

Strength in numbers!
I think it could be done.
It's just a matter of who wants to do it.

I know it sounds "after school special" like... but hey- thats how dreams are made!
Wouldn't that be an amazing story?

I'll risk the "ridicule" here by posting this.

Who knows, maybe it will spark an idea to those here, and it starts a whole new movement.

Just brainstorming.

Any body have any thoughts?

rsot 04-04-2013 10:29 AM

My first question is what are you smoking and if it's good, pass it over :)

Seriously though, a noble thought but the logistics are heavy - a lot of development etc.

Plus whoever gets this kind of site going is likely to phase out the other people who are competing...then again, plan it out and who knows :)

HunterStudios 04-04-2013 10:51 AM

I would be very interested in this. I think it could be easily done and if marketed correctly, it would be extremely successful.

I agree with rsot however, this would take a lot of planning, development and CASH. I don't think its realistic to try to start a website/endeavor of this size without any start up funds.

yellowrotorway 04-04-2013 11:02 AM

auctionweb

Yea, I hear ya,
But ya know there are alot of people on this forum who are makeing a lot if cash on E-Bay.
Alot of these guys are business minded, and might invest..

Also thats what people said to Mr. Pier Armidar in 1995.

Peir Armidar started a website called (auction web).
He wanted a truely democratic environment.
Everyone laughed at him and It took him quite a while because he was ALONE.

Everyone thought he was foolish and at first (Auction Web) was only used for buying and selling computer parts.
Nobody thought (Auction Web) would ever work..
Who would buy from people they don't know on the web, right?

Today (Auction Web) has been sold, but evolved, has over 75 MILLION users, it generates over 50 BILLION DOLLARS and is now known as (E Bay).
It's just been a dream of mine.
No way to ever do it on my own.
I Don't have the knowledge - nor time.

Here , we got numbers, AND a perfect road map on how to tap into this market.

I know that in order to organize something like this is really tough. But, someone who has major management skills could do this, with the help of a whole community of disgruntled ebay "stealthers".. Don't ya think? .

We got the troops... Who knows?!?!?
Thing is, E-bay started as a stupid little auction place that was auctioning - Computer parts. The original owner sold the URL and then it just TOOK OFF..

Any other thoughts?

MM78 04-04-2013 11:19 AM

I'm gonna stick to selling on Ebay, when your site blows up...I will sell on it!

yellowrotorway 04-04-2013 11:29 AM

LOL.. : )
Well yea, of course continue in "stealth mode" ..

But hey, again- this is how things evolve.. -Ya never know... I sent PM to Askpin.
He is the curator here.
So I figured I ask him..

Hey Hunterstudious, why don't you Pm Askpin?
See if he knows anyone who would invest or if he would support this.
See what he thinks about it.

I'm just brainstorming, just throwin ideas, and would like to see what everyone would say about this.
I don't have computer skills, but can manage.

If there was a"sub group" within the forum working on this.
I bet ya it would take on...

I would really like to see what Askipin says.
I would like to know if he ever thought of this.

stanislav 04-04-2013 11:35 AM

The difference is , you are trying to reinvent the helicopter. Good luck with that. Do you think you are the first one to come up with such brilliant idea? Big companies with millions at their expense don't even dare and those who dare don't even come close.

Hey - I don't know-I hear what you are saying... But here is the difference.
We are a community of intelligent, recourceful DISGRUNTLED- e-bayers, and Askpin knows the laws, the history. There is strenth in numbers and I don't think these other websites had that.
Your probably right, but what the hell it's good conversation.
(Your either a leader with vision or a follower of a leader with vision).

Sandy D 04-04-2013 12:35 PM

History lesson No. 1

You are never going to knock ebay off their perch.

Only one company in the world could to that today and that would be google.

As the person who create what I believe was the first stealth account in 2003 and had ideas of doing what you are thinking even back then I quickly realized they are a household name and you might as well join them and learn how to use them for your own good.

No one who sells tons of items here or anywhere would have the time to help run a website to the kinds of numbers you would be talking about.

yellowrotorway 04-04-2013 12:41 PM

Hey stanislav..
I never said that "no one else ever thought of it" and I never said it was some "Brilliant Idea"-

Hey - I don't know-I hear what you are saying... But here is the difference.
We are a community of intelligent, recourceful DISGRUNTLED- e-bayers, and Askpin knows the laws, the history. There is strength in numbers and I don't think these other websites had that.
If they had millions and it still didn't work for them, than you got a point.
Your probably right, but what the hell it's good conversation.
(Your either a leader with vision or a follower of a leader with vision).

I am disabled now, however back when I told people I would build a Rotorway Helicopter and then fly it.- no one believed me. "They said many others have tried"..now I laugh at how small minded those people are.

Anyway, innovation comes from dreaming- someone's got to do it..

rsot 04-04-2013 12:42 PM

I never said that I am disgruntled so careful on that word :)

A good conversation yes but the development takes time...and the marketing is extremely tight.

yellowrotorway 04-04-2013 12:45 PM

I agree. Someone will eventually take em out...
Until then- STEALTH BABY~! : )

stanislav 04-04-2013 02:11 PM

I think there is a difference between being innovative and a dreamer. You are trying to reinvent the wheel. It's not possible because the wheel is already rolling. Ebay cannot be taken out. The only company that can come close to it is Google and even they aren't trying.

MM78 04-04-2013 02:17 PM

This thread reminds me of another post...
http://www.aspkin.com/forums/other-a...down-ebay.html

Instead of trying to take down ebay....learn to play their game.

Univerzal 04-04-2013 02:45 PM

Oh this thread is to infected , Ebay shouldnt be taken down ( true story ) but they can absolutely have Some competition.

To start something that "steal".....well lets say 7-9% of ebays buyers, that will cost.....NOTHING, but you need several skills and have the time to make scripts and marketing strategies, design, the only cost if some of us really did this would be hosting, red bull and domains.

Over n out.:)

stanislav 04-04-2013 03:23 PM

The only competition on the market to eBay is Amazon. Can you even compete with Amazon? No you can't. Also if you are talking about people who actually know anything about scripts , seo etc this is not the forum where you will find these kind of people. No offense to anyone by the way.

Your idea is just unrealistic and very immature. Again no offense but I am just telling you how I see it. It belongs to the same ideas concept of peace, let's make the world a peaceful place. If only everyone was nice to each other we would have world peace. Not happening anytime soon.

So unless you have a revolutionary idea that no one came up with, you should just let it be and find ways to make money on eBay. If you can't win, join them.

robsut 04-04-2013 04:43 PM

I have one question, how many members are there on this forum alone?

last3379 04-04-2013 04:51 PM

You need more than numbers, you need $$$ and tons of it!

AmazonStealth 04-04-2013 04:52 PM

I think you should start selling some of the drugs you are using and it would be much more profitable

You made an error of not searching on the forum FIRST.

Topic addressed time and time and time again.

Thread now moved to its correct place.

Be careful of wacky backy in future. Clouds the brain cells.

You do not know that all of us here are disgruntled in the first place. Sure some of us have been hard done by ebay.

Now we take advantage and beat them. My profits from selling are going to my bank account.
And that's the way I like it.
:peace:

Sandy D 04-04-2013 05:49 PM

I dont like ebay and their business practices but as long as they continue to keep the cash flowing into my hands I will keep playing the game.

$$$$$$$$$$

And when I play I like to win and get paid to boot.
