| imjustme | 08-05-2013 06:25 AM | Depending on what you sell, niche marketplaces may be the way to go. I know of a few people who sell a lot more on Etsy than on eBay for handmade items. eBay is pretty much dead for handmade items now.
I wonder if eBay will start losing other niche markets soon as well.
Reverb.com seems to be taking the music instruments niche. |
| slapped | 08-05-2013 09:26 AM | Im Not so sure about that,,,Although you are correct about Ebay losing the Handmade battle to Etsy,,as well as other catagories,,, where do you see that applying to Amazon?,,It seems like Amazon is doing Nothing but getting BIGGER Everyday,,,,They even started selling Produce now,,,, |
Selling Produce...acquring newspapers (well Bezos anyway - and it's a front)...heavy commercialization...trying to become a brand off-line as well as on. |
| GreenBean | 08-07-2013 09:51 AM | Amazon is out there

The Purchasing of the Washington Post is what will UNDOUBTLY a slew of Aquisions in order to secure content that he can distribute ONLINE,,,he did not pay 250 Million for the Washington Post because he believes that there is some life left in print (Offline) Media, I can ASSURE you of that, It is the same stragety that he has take with streaming,,,Hell he now even has "Made for Amazon" Series, just like Netflix and their "House of Cards' series (Which is GREAT, By the Way) |
Made for Amazon series? This is news to me...google time |
| ed6587 | 08-08-2013 11:58 AM | Anyone recommend TradeMe as a worthwhile marketplace to expand your efforts into as an Australian seller. I'm guessing UK and U.S members wouldn't find them to be the most profitable outlet due to the fact that the main consumers are locals.
I am hoping you would probably know this GreenBean. |

| zoneout | 08-21-2013 02:27 AM | Produce from AZ ? I don't think I'll be ordering a dozen eggs and a watermelon from there any time soon. Though I once did order a package of Alpha-bits cereal a couple years ago - wanted to get back in touch with my youth. |

| Lilithbane | 08-21-2013 02:18 PM | This has been asked before but not much response. I've been searching for other alternatives to...everything.
Ebay, Amazon, etc etc...so far I've come up with - Ubid (eh, dunno)
- Ebid (so far one sale...seems low traffic)
- IOffer (so-so)
- Bonanza (sucked, they banned me twice)
Ebay is a bit slow right now but they say it will pick up in the Fall
Amazon has been my highest revenue but I must admit they are the strictest and a bit asinine with policy- until I go full stealth and go slow (I have 16K products and have to pace myself- I've heard also if you gross over 2K in a week they will ban you (like they did me recently-cough cough) in a heartbeat)
Anything else I missed?
Comments?
I mean, really- there aren't that many places you can sell Adult lines online and get away with it and NOT get banned....I'm limited in my options, guys... |

I'm going to take a stab at it. Wouldn't hurt. |

For what is worth . Really new one .
Looks promising , or most probably it will fail like most of them do . |
Re: Let's compile a list of other marketplaces... Simple layout. Not a lot of listings yet. Some namebrand potential knockoff listings. We will see in time but...yeah...not a great spot yet |
