That's the way to build the site - yes, you will have a huge slope to climb but you're doing it slowly - takes time and persistence

On the other hand, be careful of making changes. Try to make them as sensible as well as practical.

I notice you now have live auctions. Good one :thumb:

However, are you aware that some of them may be subject to VeRo takedowns?

That needs to be checked to protect yourselves.

RIP has come from the website having no products up at all.

There's a body, but no pulse, so to speak.

Also, I notice something strange on your website ...I see new users signing up every day but with random usernames in the same pattern, a 6 letter name followed by a 4 digit number.

Netherlands...users with numbers...yeah your site was being scouted...

imjustme 06-21-2014 07:41 AM

Re: new craft/handmade auction site

They are probably circumventing your signup process. Its very insecure. I could register an account and activate it without even having access to that email address. In fact, I could register an account with anyhing@craftyauctions.co.uk without having access to that email address and still activate it.

To help for the future, accounts from The Netherlands may be using TOR. That country offers many sites of ISP access whereby its users spam forums.

Are you controlling your own registrations? It's not difficult.

:croc:

we are now controlling our own registrations if anyone does sign up they need the email verification if not then we can verify them manually
any strange or weird names just get suspended an blocked
we are keeping an eye on who registers with us

Over 2 months since you announced your website here, you still have 0 products listed ...

Don't give up, but you need to set up all the sub-categories and have listings like asap.

thanks were not giving up
sub catergories are in place we ve done them there there
but not showing up when you click on categories were going to get our programmer to have a look as the most viewed items when we do get items listed are nt showing up either
just little things which need tweaking
we are thinking of getting the icons changed onsite too
like have craft icons instead of the standared ones
an try an get something crafts in space where we can

imjustme 06-27-2014 06:11 PM

Re: new craft/handmade auction site

If 2 months after going live you still don't have even a single listing up, you're on the completely wrong path. Instead of dedicating your time to adding more categories and drawing new icons, you should focus on getting products listed. I wrote that like a month ago and you still have nothing. Not even one of your own products, at least?

I must be talking to a wall here.

Couldn't agree more, no ROI if you have not even your own products listed.

Where are the products?

Where is the traffic?

Forum is for later when you are up running.

Absolutely. Anything except actual products will bring success to your marketplace. Just be sure to never add any products as otherwise you might fail.

Sandy D 07-07-2014 12:23 AM

Re: new craft/handmade auction site

Forum will only grow if you have the traffic.

Focus on getting traffic and sales on the site.

No one will be listing anything if there are no sales showing.

GreenBean 07-08-2014 12:37 AM

Re: new craft/handmade auction site

My concern still is paying out money to developers.

I am wondering what is hatching?
