Default Very odd issue with an Ebay-type site, possible device block

It's a buy/sell marketplace, web-based

Based on what I've read about what Paypal can do with pulling device info (not much), I find it hard to believe any other website could do more.

At first I thought they might be blocking me based on my restrictive hosts file, or the security plugins I use in Firefox. I'm using a Fresh IP/OS

But having tried stripping all the security stuff, and resetting my hosts file to default, (and trying a new browser, then a brand new OS install) I still appear to be blocked.

The point at which I am being blocked may be related to a cloudfront script/cloudfront.net server.

It seems like I am overlooking simple very simple, and that I must be giving this site way too much credit. But if the thing I am overlooking comes to you, please suggest it!

Happy to provide more details if needed - Just totally stumped and thought some of you might have some ideas.

It just seems odd to me that if Paypal can't detect a device, how could some far smaller site?

I do believe they are employing siftscience, which I believe is related to device recognition - also a server called radi.co but that seems to be related to marketing etc. not security.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

Name of the site is immaterial. LOL.

If the site is subjected to heavy spamming, most webmasters have methods in place to block access.

Size of a site does not matter. It is what security protocols they have active that do.

Tried Firefox all stripped down with security plugs first
Then without security plugs (various things allowed/not allowed)
Then tried Aviator
Then IE
Then iceweasel in Tails
...and when it didnt work with Tails i was really stumped.

I switched out my router off the PC, so i was running straight to the cable modem.
Suddenly it started working again.
Plugged the router back in, still worked.

Totally stumped.

FYI, i had used the connection direct to the cable modem with the site in question previously

I sell only outside of EB and AZ and have never heard of anything this detailed. All of the stuff you are doing sounds completely asinine just to sell some crap on the internet.

Is this truly just some random e-commerce site like all of the rest or do they offer something else?

well if trying a different browser and plugging in a router is asinine id hate to see what you think of the crazy stuff some other posters here must be doing for a buck

Why? You claim to be unable to use a site.

You have few posts.

I never assume about a poster's level of knowledge until it is proven.

LSO, fingerprinting, cookies?

Status of them?

do you know what tails is?

heres the other thing tho. this site is far less sophisticated than paypal. i tried to make a point of this originally, i may have done a poor job.

anyway, you got a couple schools of thought on this, i am aware -

most people, i dont know about here, but generally around the net, dont seem to think paypal can do stuff like read your mac, or fingerprint your hardware, or whatever.

and then theres the other school of thought that thinks that paypal CAN do all or some of that stuff.

whichever school of thought you fall into, the fact that a site that has a fraction of the budget, revenue, traffic can do a better job - a far better job - of blocking someone, is pretty odd.

which is why i said, "very odd issue" in the subject...

and when i was still blocked with tails, which is about as "full body condom" as you can get online, without going hardcore...

If that's literally all you did, then you don't understand ste.alth. Second, stop with the Tails/Tor nonsense and "schools of thought". You are new here and have neither AZ Gh/ost or EB Ste/alth.

This is typical of someone in your position. You are going about st/ealthing incorrectly. We are not trying to go full anon so we can d/l torr.ents or buy some cra.ck on Sil.kR.oad.

We are not going to go into some huge debate with someone who just showed up here and wants to argue every point we make. It happens all of the time and then once the person takes a breather and actually learns how stea/lthing works, problems are solved quickly. Study the forum a bit more and pick up one of the guides. You will find your answer.

Every ecommerce site I use outside of EB/AZ/PP is a friggin' piece of cake.

I made a thread dude.

You are the one trying to turn it into a debate.

You can act like the big expert on everything if you want, i dont really care about measuring my stealth knowledge against yours because i get self worth from other areas in my life.

Have a great weekend.

Your posts are condescending and you say you have done "everything", but you are brand new here and have none of the guides. The only thing that worked for you was unplugging your router/modem and then somehow, like magic, you can access the site.

Tons of people on this forum operate multiple EB/PP/AZ accounts from the same computer. Yet, this little e-commerce site seems to be able to sniff you out instantly. Going around in circles because you want to assume they are tracking all of your devices is hilarious. Again, based on your theory, how did a simple unplugging of router/modem get you back on then?

I'd love to know what exactly you did to some site that has you thinking they've put all this effort in to stopping little ol' you from ever touching their site again.

OP doesn't need to. They are already a master of all things stea/lth because they use Tails.

Its strange that he doesn't want to mention the website.

I have extensive technical knowledge and could assist, but if he doesn't want to say it, then nobody can help him. Without knowing what the website does and testing it, it's imposible to say what it is.

We are not Harry Potter or Dumbledore here..
