Ebay and paypal suck
Hi everyone I am new here. Here is my recent encounter with these 2 terrible companies.
I am leaving both Ebay and Paypal.
Their customer service is useless.
I purchased a glass item which arrived with a dink in it. I contacted seller and got no response. So fired off messages to both companies. I said it had a crack and was no use to me as I couldn't give it to grandson as it was dangerous etc. I explained I was isolating and couldn't return via post office. I realise now I should have said it wasn't fit for purpose. This jar cost £44.90, and represents half my weekly pension. I am 74 yrs of age and am exasperated now, as I've tried every which way to obtain a refund without success. I've decided to no longer use either company, and I've been a loyal customer for 12 years, spending a ton of money over this time. I feel relieved that the saga of the past few days is over. As soon as covid is over, I shall start to do all my shopping in the real world. I realise I've been lazy over the past 12 yrs and as sis pointed out, often paying over the top on ebay for goods for the home, clothes etc. These companies were both impossible to contact over the phone, both had messages saying look at help pages online! I got myself so stressed out trying to sort this, all to no avail. As I say I am relieved it's over. I run a large WI group and have spread the word regarding these scoundrels. I may ring Trading Standards in a few weeks and report them both, once I have calmed down. |
