Hello from Seattle | Looks like I used to live in "Washington State" Thread. :)
Well I used to live there too, ""Mountlake Terrace"" while I was working at a couple of the Aircraft Companies near Seattle.
AND: Welcome to the forum FUBAR! |
| ovidiu | 08-29-2011 06:36 PM | Wow, look at all these people from Seattle. Does eBay maybe just like to suspend Seattle folks, because Amazon is here or something? Lol.
Speaking of Mountlake Terrace, nice area. Especially the waterfront @ Edmonds :) |
| FUBAR | 08-29-2011 09:26 PM | Since there are so many people in the state care to share the advantages of being in this business and living where we do? Are there any or does it not really matter where you live? |
| ovidiu | 08-29-2011 10:14 PM | There's an advantage for me; I sell MS/Adobe software mostly and Microsoft headquarters is here, plus an Adobe call center of some kind. Dunno about everyone else. |

| jbluntz | 08-29-2011 10:46 PM | Nintendo is right next to Microsoft, I used to deliver packages to both of them, maybe you can find defective products in there dumpsters. |

They are about to redo the 520 bridge and it's going to get nuts though with delays and traffic. Good thing I live in the city! | Yeah we lived in Lynnwood and hit crazy traffic everyday...god forbid we had to go down to Tacoma to use the PX on base. That's a brutal drive. You're very lucky to live in the city, not only is it awesome but also a very covenient place to be. Not to mention how close it is to all of that amazing Asian food there. I miss Seattle a lot. |
| ovidiu | 08-30-2011 01:05 AM | Lol.
Basically, Microsoft has a huge "playtest" program. They give people software & xbox games as payment for doing usability testing for them. Also, every MS employee has a certain amount he can spend at the employee store and buy software and other stuff.
As for Nintendo, their offices used to be/is right across from MS (not sure, I didn't see their logo on the building anymore last time I drove to Redmond), but I don't know anything about them. Adobe has an office of some sort here, but yes, they are headquartered in the bay area. Funny how US Defense forces gave many people employment
The military bases (Lewis/McChord) are down in the Tacoma area. The people who work there are mostly trashy and live in the ghetto. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:33 AM. | |
