Hello from Seattle

Newbie here. Looking forward to learning more and hopefully sharing

ovidiu 08-28-2011 06:07 PM

I'm from Seattle too. Glad to have you here. What's your poison, Amazon, eBay, or both?

madmuppet303 08-28-2011 06:28 PM

Lived there for a short span of time. Beautiful city, but good lord the traffic is rediculous.

ovidiu 08-28-2011 07:07 PM

+1 on the traffic, blame the anti-auto libs.

GreenBean 08-28-2011 07:22 PM

I lived in Tacoma. My house is there. :)

fav place would be Katy Downs on Ruston Way

Not so fond memories of Sea-Tac Airport.

Used dream of living out in Grays Harbor County or (for preference) anywhere on Puget Sound.
Memories

GTB 08-28-2011 07:23 PM

madmuppet303...cheer up will ya;)

welcome to`forums FUBAR:thumb:

ovidiu 08-28-2011 07:33 PM

Wow Greenbean, I had no idea, Tacoma!

And the area around Sea-Tac is known as the "drug-free-zone", being anything but, of course.

GreenBean 08-28-2011 07:36 PM

Ha! Drug-free, as if

jbluntz 08-28-2011 08:16 PM

Greanbean is from Tacoma? Seattle was one of my old stomping grounds from downtown to west seattle to sea-tac to renton to rainier beach. I lived downtown right above a night club so the floor would shake from the music on the weekends, fun stuff.

ovidiu 08-28-2011 11:49 PM

Hey another dude from Seattle :) Renton, home sweet home.

Speaking of night clubs, I don't know what kind of music you dig, but C89.5 is still going strong over here.

jbluntz 08-29-2011 12:12 AM

Yep c89.5 listened to that for years, closest thing you can get to modern day house and old school electro, I mostly just plug in my iphone to my ipod stereo now and Renton Highlands and downtown, nice part of town, lot's of parks and Asian girls used to hang out by Renton stadium and the skate park quite a bit.

Alps_a somewhatlegend 08-29-2011 12:21 AM

Well I am boring London - hi from UK :)

jbluntz 08-29-2011 12:25 AM

I'm still working on this UK girl at starbucks, wanna see how boring she is, just love the UK accent

Yeah hit some bad traffic today. It could be worse, I could live in a larger city that has much worse traffic. They are about to redo the 520 bridge and it's going to get nuts though with delays and traffic. Good thing I live in the city!

Alps_a somewhatlegend 08-29-2011 01:09 AM

lol... I love US accents. I could listen to a girl talking for hours and hours

If I have a UK accent lady talking for just a few minutes, I get headache!

You go get that lady jbluntz you charmer, I am sure she will get treated like a queen

Ha, that's cool. I was actually wondering how active the port at Tacoma was for goods from Asia. Do you know? I was thinking it would be interesting to find out if they ever auction off unclaimed cargo containers.

London is the bomb! Love that city. Expensive for us Americans though.

ovidiu 08-29-2011 01:31 AM

jbluntz you still in Seattle?

Most of the Starbucks women around here are past their prime. But yeah, I agree on the Asians, a lot of hot little Asians all over Seattle :)

jbluntz 08-29-2011 01:34 AM

I didn't even think we had accents and yeah this girls pretty fine, think she's Persian, think it's the combination of Persian background combined with a UK accent that really get's some sparks flying..

No I'm in a more upperscale part of town now way outside the city even though it's still like the city. Live right next to an outlet mall with all your popular designer labels, shopping center and gold's gym, not as many hoodrats just more upperscale better quality living.

GTB 08-29-2011 06:42 AM

Looks like I used to live in "Washington State" Thread. :)

Well I used to live there too, ""Mountlake Terrace"" while I was working at a couple of the Aircraft Companies near Seattle.

AND: Welcome to the forum FUBAR!

ovidiu 08-29-2011 06:36 PM

Wow, look at all these people from Seattle. Does eBay maybe just like to suspend Seattle folks, because Amazon is here or something? Lol.

Speaking of Mountlake Terrace, nice area. Especially the waterfront @ Edmonds :)

FUBAR 08-29-2011 09:26 PM

Since there are so many people in the state care to share the advantages of being in this business and living where we do? Are there any or does it not really matter where you live?

ovidiu 08-29-2011 10:14 PM

There's an advantage for me; I sell MS/Adobe software mostly and Microsoft headquarters is here, plus an Adobe call center of some kind. Dunno about everyone else.

Why would that be an advantage? I would think NY would be the place to be as far as importing goes.

Adobe is based here I think. They're in Fremont. Anyone try to get anything wholesale or refurbished from Nintendo?

jbluntz 08-29-2011 10:46 PM

Nintendo is right next to Microsoft, I used to deliver packages to both of them, maybe you can find defective products in there dumpsters.
