What the best wording when buyers ask you why address is different when returning item?

If its the same city, I always say that I've moved since opening an eBay or that you are on holiday and you don't want an item to "get lost in the mail" so could they perhaps send it to your friends address.

I usually just offer 80-100% refund and tell them to keep the item- Packing something and a visit to post office wastes more time than some items are worth- Anything under £50 in my case.

Tell the buyer, we are a business with a separate returns department (obviously with more explanation)

All depends on the item value in my case.. having to email the person your real postal address carrys risk with ebay monitoring messages so sometimes better to offer partial refund or just take the hit if you can and refund in full and tell them they can keep it in exchange for good feedback
