IP tethering vs VPN
 

Ok, I know vpn has lot of blacklisted IP addreses but what about Phone tethering? Are they ip addresses that are not blacklisted and just generates a new one? I think I ran into same ip addresses here and there but wondering if other people get the same ip addresses as me as well?

So generally speaking though phone tethering is more stealth then vpn?

I wouldn't really call it "more stealth". Cell phone providers have a certain amount of IP addresses available in their pool just like any other ISP. Sooner or later you are bound to repeat an IP or stumble upon one that's already been blacklisted for whatever reason.

EDIT: Since most who do tethering don't use static IP's, that makes it more risky than using a solid VPN. You could login using a blacklisted (tether) IP one day and you'd never know.

Well guess best bet is to get a ip address that is dedicated and fresh all for yourself .. Worth the investment and sanity. Meanwhile, I'll do some test to see few accounts on how long it will last with few using VPN hide my ass and few using tethering on a different pc. Maybe if account builds up with feedback and successful transactions and time goes by ebay might think the original tenant using the ipaddress left or something since it will be different person anyways. But reading on here I know ip address alone doesn't get one banned.

If you could use Phone tethering, you should choose that.

What about cdma tethering where you don't have a numbered ip? My IP shows up as 57eab-1234x-yyeu0-xdneu9-etc etc
