Paypal can detect a vpn but I am only using a Proxy.

Paypal stated today that they can tell I am using a VPN.
I am not using a VPN but a well known proxy provider.

How are they able to tell ? what else can I do besides Webrtc disable to prevent them from knowing?

There was another post about this and someone said the same thing.
I imagine you were logged in to your account when you spoke to them?
Logout before you contact them and i would imagine they won't see it then.

I am curious where they told you that, whether that's a matter to them?
Detecting VPN or proxies is fairly easy-thru many factors such as ISP, open ports.. list goes on.

May be your IP got change every time so they think, otherwise there is no way to detect IP unless IP change every time.

Nah, IP changes happen often on MIFI devices as well. But yes, they can detect some VPN and that will prevent them from sending codes for verification as well

They can see your IP is one issued via a data centre. Thats why they said its a VPN. The same applies even if you're using a proxy.

I wouldn't worry too much, both are pretty much the same thing, just a few slight differences. A PayPal employee wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
