| trashface | 04-10-2010 05:56 AM | Mobile Broadband Only Static IP Address I am following the stealth guide, andI bought a Virgin mobile broadband dongle, and an AT&T 3G usb dongle but they both only give static IP addresses, is that normal? and is it possible to change it? And which mobile broadband devices give dynamic IP addresses? If you could answer this, it would be a great help.
Thanks |
Do you get the same ip everytime you connect and check on ipburger? |
| trashface | 04-10-2010 07:22 AM | Yes, both devices respectively give the same IP addresses. It happened with the Virgin Mobile one first, so I went and got the AT&T 3G one, and it happened again. |
| First Edition | 04-10-2010 07:29 AM | I have Verizon, and Sprint. Sometimes Sprint will only cycle through 10-15 ip's depending on the device. Verizon works perfect, every time, without fail.
If you call the companies and ask them to remove the static ip code in the billing, they should be able to. |
| trashface | 04-10-2010 07:51 AM | Do you have the aircards or the usb connect device? I called both companies, Virgin had no idea what I was talking about. The lady in India, actually told me to hold, while she googled it. And At&t said they aren't allowed to change from static to dynamic, but she didn't really know either. I have to say thanks for the new account also. |
I had a similar problem with Vodafone, it cycled through 10-20 ips but I have since got onto 3G and works fine. I am not fimiliar with USA Mobile broadband providers but in the UK 3G seems to be the best. |
| aristocrat | 04-11-2010 04:29 PM | I am thinking about getting the Verizon mobile broadband...does it give you different ip's everytime? |
| trashface | 04-11-2010 06:32 PM | I thinks so. I finally got the At&t broadband to switch ip's after talking to about 3 customer service reps. But I'm not sure about Verizon, although most others on the forums say it does. |
| cardfelon | 04-11-2010 10:50 PM | I have a Verizon USB modem and it changes IP's every time. It also changes the location that the IP comes from sometimes. So far it has shown that the IP has come from Tennessee, Alabama and Kansas. Yet I live in Idaho. |
| aristocrat | 04-12-2010 09:27 PM | so i went with the palm pre as verizon is offering free tethering at the moment. should ease my ip changing issue and allow me to do the business on the road |
| oompaloompa | 04-13-2010 05:23 AM | yes, mobile ones are often static, my occasional laptop is on t-mobile and I can only use it for one account and general browsing.....we stealth people need to research ips before purchase.. |

| tweedledum | 04-17-2010 01:15 PM | Did the Virgin Mobile USB device at least give a different IP than the ATT? or did both devices give the same IP (the Virgin Mobile giving the same as the ATT)? Appreciate your reply.... |
| First Edition | 04-17-2010 01:54 PM | Use verizon, it's faster, better, more reliable. |
| OfficialGenius | 04-19-2010 07:14 AM | Virgin Mobile is dynamic according to OGe. Has there been any change? I've been debating buying the Virgin mobile one due to more GB than Verizon. |

I've been debating buying the Virgin mobile one due to more GB than Verizon. | I don't know if they changed recently, but I had my Virgin Mobile as late as the beginning of this month, and it gave me a static IP address and was the same one each and every time. I now have an AT&T LG 3G usb dongle and it gives a static IP address, it is different every time. |
| OfficialGenius | 04-20-2010 09:24 AM | I hope they didnt change it. Otherwise I'm stuck paying an outrageous price for Verizon broadband with way less GB. :pout: |
| First Edition | 04-24-2010 09:46 PM | outrageous price? 60 bucks a month.... jeez guys.... no offense, but thats not a bad investment if you sell on ebay |
| balishag | 05-01-2010 11:49 PM | URGH!
I was just about to buy the Virgin Mobile Prepaid. Anyone else know of prepaid cards that don't give one IP? |
| phson01 | 05-12-2010 09:28 PM | I am using Virgin Mibile, it has static ip....everytime you connect the ip is the same. Wasted my 100 bucks.... right now it seems only Verizon can offer dynamic ip |

I was seriously 10 minutes from getting a virgin 2 year contract. Dial-up is painfully slow. I just cant use it anymore... I have a top speed cable service already so this would have been for one purpose. And I came here to confirm I would get a new ip each connect on Virgin... Whew! |
Virgin Mobile in different countries might work differently unless you are using Virgin Mobile USA? |
No, Virgin Canada. But odds are very strong it would be the same. Its hard to call these companies and ask this info because its not a standard question they have in their little answer books. most of the time the service folks dont have a clue.
I want to get a mobile thumb drive for sure. But i want one that generates a new IP each time |
| trashface | 05-22-2010 04:01 AM | AT&T has a static IP address, but it changes every time. No problems for about two months now, and new IP every time. |
| siccspitz | 05-31-2010 02:46 AM | my clear wire says its dynamic
but its lies.
I use iprental which changes my ip address every 2 minutes |
| 2003pinkpoodle | 07-09-2010 05:33 PM | Hi guys I am new here...Started selling on ebay about 6 to 7 months ago...nothing major...but now I am into selling High Risk...High Ticket...100% Authentic Items and just wanted to be on the safe side...Dont want to get suspended for anything or limited and if I do...i have the tools to get back on thanks to the Ebay Stealth Book...Today i got my Verizon USB 760 Modem and it is a Dynamic Ip...it changes every single time I connect and reconnect...i dont remember who on here suggested it...but BIG thanks...Because I have AT&T Uverse and was having a lot of difficulty changing my ip address. But this works perfectly.... |
| jeffweico | 07-09-2010 06:44 PM | Cricket (prepaid broadband) not only gives you a new IP, they also keep a log of each IP issued. That can be VERY HELPFUL in certain situations.
Their service is also relatively fast, for what it is. |
That was probably me who suggested the Verizon card. Another trick to log your ips is to sign into gmail then click on the bottom and it will show your log of ips. |
| oompaloompa | 07-12-2010 03:59 AM | actually good point, one of mine is a dynamic mobile connection and it runs through just
last 4 digits changing, so chance of a repeat, other than simply monitoring repeats and logging, is there any way to actually get one or a group of ips together for each account, a way of switching to ip you want? |

I use iprental which changes my ip address every 2 minutes | Is this a pretty good service and how long have you been using this iprental? I looked it up but it seems like vpn type service or a proxie. |
| spandax | 01-21-2012 06:33 PM | I have Virgin Mobile mifi prepaid to go and I get a new IP every time I turn it on.
Combined with tethering from my smart phone making accounts is going pretty well. |
| csvmont | 12-02-2012 07:03 PM | I've been reading different threads, it seems everyone has different results. Some say there IP address changes every time turned on/off, others say there IP address stays the same. Can someone please confirm which Provider has been proven to work? And if a specific device is needed. ??
Thanks |
| Futuremogul888 | 12-02-2012 11:56 PM | You have to consider where you live and what is the individual carrier's footprint in your area. Where I am, in a large city, Virgin Mobile devices give me lots of IPs. |
| jamcocktail21 | 12-03-2012 12:27 AM | For me Verizon is the best......Futuremogul888 is right depends a lot where are you live as well so what works for me might not work for others, keep trying i am sure you will find your carrier. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:55 PM. | |
