aspkin | 06-11-2010 02:01 PM | Yep, it can happen, iPhones have cookies and an IP address too. :) |
jutto | 06-11-2010 02:17 PM | not what i was hoping to hear. thanks for the quick response. |
Snagga | 06-12-2010 05:25 PM | just put your phone in airplane mode for then clear all your cookies and shut airplane mode off. only takes about 17seconds |
sdot10 | 06-13-2010 10:20 AM | all you have to do is go into the browser and clear the cookies and such. Then restart the phone. Ive been using my phone as my computer for like 6 months and never been linked. You clear the browser and when you restart the phone it has to reconnect to the network and gives you a new ip |

static | 06-16-2010 10:04 AM | So does this iphone airplane mode/ restart work? I was about to go so far as to get dialup, just so that I could always have access to a fresh ip when I make new accounts. If I could just use an iphone instead, it'll solve that problem, and finally give me a deciding point in my android incredible on verizon vs iphone on at&t problem lol. |
lakeman | 06-16-2010 03:21 PM | Yes it works great, I use mine to get new ips also. You just put it on airplane mode for about 5 seconds and you will get a new ip. |
jutto | 06-17-2010 02:37 PM | thats cool. what about the ipad. ive been thinking of getting one soon. does it have airplane mode? |
Uncle Billy | 06-17-2010 05:22 PM | I have been tethering my Iphone and using it as a modem for my lap top works great and the Ip address is easy to change. The speed is way better then dial up also |
jayne.w1 | 06-24-2010 06:22 AM | Won't eBay get suspicious if you keep changing your ip address each time you use your iPhone? It certainly sounds easy enough to do and would save loads of time rather than having different user accounts for each eBay account. I have just set up my first stealth account but would like to access it via my iPhone. Any views about eBay becoming suspicious? |
aking | 06-24-2010 08:42 AM | ok, so with the ipone you get a new ip address everytime with airplane mode, but about about flash cookies? I thought just clearing cookies wasnt enough or didnt get all the cookies?
If thats the case, im gonna get an ipad and use that for ebay. |
lakeman | 06-24-2010 10:58 AM | Jayne, no they won't get suspicious.. With dial up, you also get a new ip every time you connect.
aking, I'm tethering my iPhone, not using it directly to access ebay. If you tether it, then the cookies/flash cookies are stored on your computer, not the phone.
If you the iPhone itself to access ebay, then the cookies will be stored on it. It will not store flash cookies. |
jayne.w1 | 06-25-2010 01:06 AM | Thanks that has made it a bit clearer. But do you think I will be ok to use my Iphone by deleting cookies in settings and in aeroplane mode each time or would I be safer to use Iphone by tethering? |
ebay newbie | 06-25-2010 02:00 AM | I think I might try this as its way cheaper than buying multiple routers... Thanks |
jamesfatpig | 07-09-2010 09:14 AM | Hi guys
I am wondering if you all are talking about iphone apps 'Ebay Selling' in apply apps store
or
using Safari browser from iphone to access your ebay account?
In addition, I see 2 ip address from my iphone, one is the data ip address, and the other is from whatismyip.com, it's different, which one I should follow?? (I disabled Wifi, and just use 3G)
Please advise
Thanks!
How to clear cookies in iphone through? Sorry for so many questions~ |
Nephilim | 07-09-2010 08:23 PM | Don't own a Iphone, but I have an android phone. There is an app in the android marketplace for ebay that you can sign in and check your auctions. I was wondering if they can track you by this alone? |
keepitup | 09-05-2010 07:20 PM | I also have the Ebay app for blackberry and was wondering if they can track you if you check multiple accounts. |
aspkin | 09-05-2010 07:35 PM | Simple answer, yes they can. |
Hmmmm... I've tried turning airplane mode on and off, as well as restarting the iphone, at least 25 times each today and everytime I still get the same IP address??? |
aspkin | 09-09-2010 08:26 AM | If you're connected by WiFi, then yeah.
If on 3G then you should get a new IP. |
aking | 09-09-2010 10:03 AM | Ok, so is it safe to create accounts on my iphone? Thing is you can't have user accounts with an iphone. Someone said the iphone doesnt store flash cookies, so I take it I don't have to worry about user accounts?
I'm going to have to do some trial & error with my iphone!! If it does work without linking, I'll have to invest in an ipad here soon. :D | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:54 PM. | |
