well i use my iphone to check and relist on my ebay all the time. i now have another account im using and am wondering if the accounts will get linked if i use the same iphone to check the other account. does anyone have any info on this? please let me know.

just put your phone in airplane mode for then clear all your cookies and shut airplane mode off. only takes about 17seconds

all you have to do is go into the browser and clear the cookies and such. Then restart the phone. Ive been using my phone as my computer for like 6 months and never been linked. You clear the browser and when you restart the phone it has to reconnect to the network and gives you a new ip

u dont have to restart. just put in airplane mode. i get a new ip every time

So does this iphone airplane mode/ restart work? I was about to go so far as to get dialup, just so that I could always have access to a fresh ip when I make new accounts. If I could just use an iphone instead, it'll solve that problem, and finally give me a deciding point in my android incredible on verizon vs iphone on at&t problem lol.

Yes it works great, I use mine to get new ips also. You just put it on airplane mode for about 5 seconds and you will get a new ip.

I have been tethering my Iphone and using it as a modem for my lap top works great and the Ip address is easy to change. The speed is way better then dial up also

Won't eBay get suspicious if you keep changing your ip address each time you use your iPhone? It certainly sounds easy enough to do and would save loads of time rather than having different user accounts for each eBay account. I have just set up my first stealth account but would like to access it via my iPhone. Any views about eBay becoming suspicious?

ok, so with the ipone you get a new ip address everytime with airplane mode, but about about flash cookies? I thought just clearing cookies wasnt enough or didnt get all the cookies?

If thats the case, im gonna get an ipad and use that for ebay.

Jayne, no they won't get suspicious.. With dial up, you also get a new ip every time you connect.

aking, I'm tethering my iPhone, not using it directly to access ebay. If you tether it, then the cookies/flash cookies are stored on your computer, not the phone.

If you the iPhone itself to access ebay, then the cookies will be stored on it. It will not store flash cookies.

Thanks that has made it a bit clearer. But do you think I will be ok to use my Iphone by deleting cookies in settings and in aeroplane mode each time or would I be safer to use Iphone by tethering?

I think I might try this as its way cheaper than buying multiple routers... Thanks

or

using Safari browser from iphone to access your ebay account?

In addition, I see 2 ip address from my iphone, one is the data ip address, and the other is from whatismyip.com, it's different, which one I should follow?? (I disabled Wifi, and just use 3G)

How to clear cookies in iphone through? Sorry for so many questions~

Don't own a Iphone, but I have an android phone. There is an app in the android marketplace for ebay that you can sign in and check your auctions. I was wondering if they can track you by this alone?

I also have the Ebay app for blackberry and was wondering if they can track you if you check multiple accounts.

Hmmmm... I've tried turning airplane mode on and off, as well as restarting the iphone, at least 25 times each today and everytime I still get the same IP address???

If you're connected by WiFi, then yeah.

If on 3G then you should get a new IP.

Ok, so is it safe to create accounts on my iphone? Thing is you can't have user accounts with an iphone. Someone said the iphone doesnt store flash cookies, so I take it I don't have to worry about user accounts?

I'm going to have to do some trial & error with my iphone!! If it does work without linking, I'll have to invest in an ipad here soon. :D

I haven't figured out how to tether for free on my iphone 4. I think AT&T may have found out about this and did away with it in the latest 4.0 firmware update.

I'm going to do a little trial and open 2 ebay accounts on my iphone and manage them from my iphone. I'll also create user accounts on my home computer for them as well. I wanna to see if they get linked.

If you're on 4.0.1 it's ok, 4.0.2 is no bueno. For 4.0.1 it's really easy, just go to jailbreakme.com in your safari browser on your iphone. It takes like 2min. Just make sure you check to see if your data plan is unlimited.

Anyone try this approach for amazon? Can they ID your iphone/ipad beyond just cookies, etc.?

My ebay accounts were suspended in May, then I bought this ebook for help. After few months, I started to create a new account by using new laptop, iphone tether, my mother's credit card....,etc. Finally, I success to get back to ebay. Now, I still have some questions... As my iphone is sync with my old laptop, also, I have ever tried to use my iphone to login all my accounts before May. Now, I want to know whether I cannot use my iphone to login my new account? I think so, but if I clean all my iphone cookies, then sync with my old laptop again, I want to know whether I will be linked with my old suspended accounts too?
What I should do if I want to use my iphone to login my new account?
Also, What I should do if I want to use ebay Apps to login my new account?

there is an internal and external ip on your iphone. in the app store you can down load : Ipmanager for .99

it keeps track of all the ips that have been used so u do not reuse them and also renews and resets ip so you get a new one.

I use my iphone from time to time to tether. My the fairly new whited00r hackivated 3.13 you get a modded ios and alot of ios4 features.

If you have probs with Black rain there is a trick.

All you have to do is use a VPN service on your iphone, so you wont get linked anyway.

The iPhone speed in my area is pretty fast, usually around 150 kb/s.

So if you're checking your emails for different accounts, now ebay makes it so you can't hit "reply" and answer the buyer's question. You have to actually reply to it in ebay messages. How does this work on the iphone??

I reply to eBay messages on all my accounts on my iPhone all the time with no issues. I tell ya the iPhone and iPad are awesome for eBay. I tether my iPhone and iPad and create accounts on my iPad on seperarw user accounts and ip address. I also get all my ebay accounts emails to my iPhone directly so I know it as soon as an item sales and a payment is made on all my active accounts. I have about 10 going right now. :)

Also, I emailed the creator of the ipad app Switch to ask him to create it for the iphone too. He said he was working on it. I specifically told him what I needed it for and he said he's getting that exact request all the time so he's working :)

Att is such a joke. You have to downgrade your unlimited data plan to get tethering on your macbook. So in order to get tethering on my computer I would have to "downgrade" my unlimited data plan to a pro plan in order to get the tethering so i can change ip's . Why would i downgrade an unlimited dataplan. They are very slick I must say Att sucks and I should have kept my 3gs and waited for verizon. What a jip

kpizzl, I believe you're referring to tethering on your iPhone right? Why pay for tethering when it's free? Several apps out there to get it for free. I use MyWi.
