Default Changing Ip Addresses for user accounts

Hi,

When you update a MAC address it will give you a new IP address after a reset.

Now at my gf's house she has BT Homehub and can easily change the IP address. However, to change the IP address I just do a reset of the hub and cant change the MAC.

Some people on this forum keep note of a MAC address for an account and then just change that to give them the same IP everytime for each respective account, but I cant do that so..

after a long while of keep changing IP addresses for all different eBay accounts im going to have one hell of a list of IP's to go through everytime to make sure they are not the same as I have previously used on another account...

Do other people that have had accounts running for a year or 2 years have about 100 pages of IP addresses to check through....

Any solution?

make a spreadsheet and then sort by ip address.

make multiple worksheets for each ip. ie 67.87.2.xxx, 67.87.4.xxx

hi

if you search the forum there are tips to help you manage your spreadsheets.
Try inserting a macro into the spreadsheet, one that detects duplicate entries and highlights the offending cells.
You can find this on here.

@durdajan,

Valid point. Sometimes people do not want to pay the extra expense.

Since it prevents linking, I run two special accounts with a different ISP. Never a danger of a link. Simples

eh true, but imagine how many better things one could be doing instead of 24/7 changing and checking IPs, perhaps different ISPs would even pay off a bit in a long run)

Excel is the way to go. Even if my list was 10000 pages all it takes is like 5 second to find that IP.
