Default when does ebay see our IP

Does someone know if ebay see our IP only when we log in/log out to the account or all the time (even when it changes during our session)?

No, it does not. I usually only need to log in every couple of days, even when I restart my router I do not need to log in again.

I hoped ebay could only see IP once - when I log in.

Not only when you log in.

Cookies track more than just log in details, there are cookies that track everything you do during a session and that includes IP changes.

So If I am logged in (but do not refresh the page or click anything) they can still see the IP changes?

That's pretty odd I want to confirm that... I remember when it happened to me using T-Mobile USB and it changed IP while I was on eBay and it logged me out. I got temp locked from using the account. This was last year though

If your not doing anything then there are no changes therefore nothing to track.

i want to mention that my provider is Hughes net

i have finally figured out after a year that i have only eight ip's to choose from

my ip changes multiple times while i am logged into e bay
it don't log me out when the ip changes

i just make sure i am at the right ip when i log in
i have checked my ip before i log off and its usually always different

i ask this same question awhile back and really didn't get a definitive answer.

i thought whenever you change pages, its like refreshing?

i hardly ever delete the cookies(but i do once in awhile)

if the cookies tell them whenever my ip changes........ i would think i would of heard something by now. maybe they just haven't caught it yet??...going on 14 months for 2 ste alths and 4 months for 2 more. and i do have one real account thats been going for about 8 yrs. its a silver PS TR

All i do is use a different user for each account and make sure my ip is right when i log in.
There is noway i can know when my ip is about to change in time to do anything about it so i do what i got to do with that account and move on.

Someone mentioned there is a app that will tell you when your ip changes but thats kinda after the fact ain't it?

i haven't had any problems yet..

good luck

They capture the IP as soon as you log in.

Many get caught by clicking on links in emails, from terpeak, auctiva etc by not paying attention and not signing out of an eb account.

Huge mistake to make.

Is it true even if I log out from the user account where I access my Ebay account and access Auctiva account from another user account? If so, does it mean we must log out from Ebay every time we finish using it?

hi

it seems to me that some take some very odd risks with their valued eb acct's.
Why are you taking the risk??
Log out everytime without fail - 1 slip & you could very well lose the acc't.

Not sure, but you should log out every time, just to be safe.
