Yes. Return it or cancel it and get the box from Sprint. Clear boxes won't change but the Sprint ones will and you can still get access to the Clear WiMax service.

Please dont get CLear 4g service, I have never seem such a crap internet provider in my life.

I canceled my service 3 months ago and the last month they charged by debit card 4 times, I had to get a new debit card. In the end they gave me back my money, 2 weeks later. My (stupid) sister had that 4g wifi box thing and it overheats even when anyone lightly uses it. I of course download movies on utorrent so that thing was always overheating. She went through 3 of those 4g boxes and all the same, the battery even bulged every time from too much heat. It was a fire hazard and even explode. They had the nerve to try to charge her shipping for the replacement battery every single time. I stepped in and told her to say, it's against some consumer law to sell defective things. They bought it and didn't charge any thing for shipping.

If you read around the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is there many complaints against Clear and many lawsuits for them throttling speeds.

With the USB 4g laptop device, you can not change the IP address, but with the 4g wifi box thing, you can. But the IP address' are very narrow, maybe less than 100-150. The devices I was using changed, I dont know about other people but it changed for me using it in Vegas.

Look into getting a cheap smart phone and tether using that and get a cheap 3g service.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have been using Clear for about 3 days now and I really don't like it. I will most likely follow your advice and drop them this month.

You can return it and get full refund within 15 or 30 days depending if you bought it in store or online. I believe it's 15 days for in store purchase and 30 days online.

You might need to read the fine print at the bottom or on your invoice, if you cant find it, I would give them a call. But you can get a full refund for the device and the service too.

If the Softbank deal is approved, it will give Sprint $3 billion in cash to hopefully take control of Clear.

A typical wireless access point using 802.11b or 802.11g with a stock antenna might have a range of 32 m (120 ft) indoors and 95 m (300 ft) outdoors. 802.11n, however, can more than double the range.

If you want to get sprint/clear's 4G Wimax without getting locked into a contract, go with virgin mobile (Sprint's Prepaid Subsidiary) and get a U600 or overdrive pro. $35 will get you unlimited 4G and 2GB of 3G. These devices definitely have a dynamic IP address.

There was actually another topic talking about antenna boosters so I thought you just posted in the wrong topic. Nice to see you had a good Hallow's Eve though haha.

oh yea, very good, after 6 shots of Vodka I was dancing with myself. A full house of 30-40 people and I was dancing with myself, all caught on video. I did get a nice note from this girl. She wants to see me not drunk next week.
And I wasn't even invited to this event, I invited myself without my sister's permission. Just dressed up really fast and into her car.

lol, I never said I was disciplined in front of the computer. And that was first time in years that I drank any alcohol.

But I am a good guy, I walk grannies across and street, pay my car insurance every month and I put a period at the end of every sentence
