Need help for changing IP Address.
 

Hi Everyone,
Do you have any easy way to changing your IP address each time for login different ebay accounts. Please let me know If you have any good ideas. Thank you.:heh:

What do you use to connect to the interwebs?

As JJGold indicated - cable modem? dongle? cellphone tethering? dial-up? or...VPS/VPN (shudder)?

I am using cable modem with AT&T. U-Verse

Are you able to change the MAC address in the router setting? If so that is one of the easy methods.

I have tried to change the router mac address. But it didn't works. It still show the same Ip address.

Did you unplug/power down the cable box along with the modem and then try restarting?

Do you know if your IP is static or dynamic?

Have you changed MAC address in the router, applied setting, then turned off the modem (no need to turn off the router if it is separate) for 10 seconds and switched it back on?

This is the process to generate a new IP. Works a treat 99% of the time.

Simply because your IP is static.

Will not be able to change the IP.

You need to look at other options.

im having the same problems, cant change the mac address of the router. what kind of dongle do you guys recommend. one idea i had was to use a spare iphone i had and use my sim card into that to log on to the account?

Wow thats confusing, i'll look it up, I will break my router by turning it off and on all the time, to reset IP.

Tethering = Using your phone's internet connection on your laptop.

Dongle = A device connected to your laptop via a USB port, and is used to connect to the internet.

Not really - sturdy device

It does work well, its relatively easy.

Its simple for now anyway!

yah i think i solved my problem. i made my gf's phone a hotspot. so now when i wanna change the ip, i unplug the eathernet cable and connect wireless to the hotspot. if i need a new ip i just turn the phone off wait 2-5 min and back on and it gives me a new ip. Will this cause any probelms?

That is a good use of cellphone tethering - you got the IP...keep track of it and follow other stealth steps

HI. i have the same problem. my paypal was limited, so i am going to create a new pp acct, i have read the stealth steps, i just couldn't change my MAC address. so i am thinking about use the tethering, however, i used paypal APP to logged in my old paypal acct( which was limited) , so my question is, if i use the same phone to connect my laptop, am i going to be linked ? thanks

Welcome to the forums Shirley.

1. Stop using Apps especially pp or eb ones

2. Old laptop? Use new user account.

3. Don't worry about mac address for eb/pp

4. Stealth guide if you have doubts - get it.

You should be very careful about what you do espcially if you are using a paypal APP on a new stealth account.

You may link yourself.

What type of cell phone are you using?
