ip address

Can 2 different dongles from 2 different Providers ever have the Same ip?

Could the ip from my htc ever be the same as a dongles ip if It's from the same Provider ?

GreenBean 08-31-2013 08:14 AM

Never known to happen as far as I have ever experienced with UK dongles....

& if it did, then it would be horrendous.

(But.................... if down the track an ISP provider got bought out by another company there might be issues. That is just painting a worse case scenario.)

Basically, go with no for your 1st question.

2nd question is maybe it might. Will depend on how you use the HTC.

I would think it very unlikely, but it may be possible with certain networks, for example T-Mobile and Orange. They use the same network (they merged a while ago). It could not happen between O2 and Orange though because they are totally different companies.

Again, this may be possible, but it is very unlikely to happen.

Simple track IP's to avoid any mix ups

It is impossible. Each ISP owns their own dynamic IP space which they lease out to their customers. The ISP must pay to maintain the address space (otherwise it becomes available publicly). There are some small cases where an ISP fails to make payment & can lose the rights to that IP space. This is rare and does not happen to larger companies.

When you see a low number in the first octet of the IP address, this is usually owned by one of the larger companies (or government agencies).

Here is an example:

Comcast owns the 68.53.0.0/16 subnet range. AT&T cannot assign one of their customers 68.53.3.3 because that is within Comcast's network range.

This is the case worldwide. In order to own a subnet range, a company (or individual) must purchase it so they may manage it privately and use it for its customer base.

Another real world example:

The company I work for (day job) lost one of our address spaces for one of our websites because someone failed to renew the SSL certificate in time. We were able to get it back since no one else reserved it (thankfully).

That is true! T-Mobile's parent company is Deutsche Telekom. They merged a couple of years ago, and operate under EE (Everything Everywhere).

Hi
This is my first time, I was trying to make some stealth account but when I go on ipburger it gave me a new ip adress but I have the previous ip on the side .how do I fix that ?

Re: ip address

The previous IP on the side is just letting you know what the last IP was that u used.
Are you making sure that when making your stealths you aren't using the same IP?

A Dongle is like Dialup....They change IP's every time and NO you don't keep the IP.
