VPN or Mobile Dongle?
 

Hi all,

After some information on this subject. Which is best to use for a stealth account a VPN or mobile dongle.

I can't use my home braodband as changing the IP on my router with my other family members buying/surfing on ebay is too much of a risk.

I've seen that mobile dongles are a good alternative but seeing prices are £10pm for 1GB which has to be used within 30 days and a VPN from my-expat-network.com is £5pm with unlimited data transfer (my ISP package is fibre unlimited).

As my stealth accounts will be on seperate user accounts I can log off the mobile or VPN then switch accounts and re-log on with a different IP address (I will still track my IP address regardless) without dirupting my other family members.

Some advice would be great, any reconmedations on VPN or mobile to use would be perfect.

Avoid VPN

If you need a domestic IP then dongle will do the job very well.

Mobile dongle or tethering is better :)

Dial-up also doable if slow speed can be waited out :)

Why avoid VPN? just wondering thats all. Also which dongle would you reccommend?

A number of VPN's have been flagged. 1 IP is shared by a lot of people, could end up with an IP that has been linked to a banned account.

3 comes well recommended on the forum

So with people like scammers using VPN's they have flagged alot but with a mobile network you look like your accessing your account via your mobile phone so eBay can't blacklist the IP's as I could be anyone with the UK.

Anyone used a VPS, I understand they are better than a VPN

A VPS is better than a VPN, but they tend to cost a lot (a decent one at least)

The best option for a domestic IP is a dongle or phone tethering.

Make sure you log all your IP addresses and prevent any overlapping.

VPS > VPN

I've thought about a dongle but it seemed like a bit of a hassle to me if you're using multiple stealths

Both VPS/VPN are misused. Accounts may then come under scrutiny by ebay/paypal. 99% of users have other mainstream alternatives for IP access.
Keep that in mind when you make your choices.

Well I took the advice and james thank you as i went out today looking for the best deal on a dongle and yes 3 was best.

£29.99 for the dongle and 10GB allowance every month for £15 on a 30day rolling contract is a great deal, cheaper than VPN's and VPS's
