IP address & MAC address confusion

Hi... I'm new here and have been scouring the threads to find an answer...but have turned up empty...I have the Stealth Book and am stuck at the IP address area. I have successfully changes my IP address but can't change my MAC. I have read that eBay doesn't trace clear to MAC Addres but am getting conflicting threads... Is it NECESSARY to change my MAC address as well as my IP address?

you have to give more information, why you can't change your MAC address ? what's your OS ?

i advice using VPS (just my opinion).

I have an arris modem... Linked to a linksys router... When I try to change the last 2 digits on my MAC address like it says in the book, I am following step by step, the box with my MAC address is greyest out and won't allow me in. I am looking through the other posts about this, having a modum and router and I guess maybe I'll find something. I am just wondering if I have to change my MAC . Does eBay go that far?

You don't need to change the MAC for eBay.

So long as you can change your public IP address there is no need to changed your MAC address.
