Possible to open acct with phone?
 

Is it possible to open a new paypal account using my phone? Either the iOS app or mobile website? Does this instantly raise suspicion and more scrutiny? Even though my ISP says I have a dynamic IP, I have no way to reset it (even tried leaving the power off for hours) and it hasn't changed in months. MONTHS! I can easily reset my network settings on my mobile device.

If that has been used on paypal/ebay before and the app is on it, then NO .

You will find yourself linked (again) and will be quickly limited.

If I'm just using the website through my phone though (and have changed my IP by resetting the network), should I be able to enroll in PayPal and eBay w/o raising suspicion? Also, if I delete/re-add the apps (where it doesn't seem to know who I am), am I good to go on apps?

Please stop trying to use the apps....please, once you use the app on a phone, ebay has already linked that phone to your account!!!!

Now, If you use a browser AND changed IP's and cleared cookies then yes.....

Why are you so determined to use the apps?

Deleting or adding the apps back on won't do anything. Your phone's unique ID (Android and Apple OS devices) is tracked and you can't change that without rooting your device. Instead, just use your web browser or utilize multiple browsers on your phone if you like.. up to you.

Once you use the app on your phone, it has you linked until you change your phone's unique ID.

It means do not think of doing this.

You can not and you should not risk this.

You have been given advice on the issue.

Got it. The unique ID explanation was all I needed. Makes sense now. Thanks. My main question was if using a mobile device (even mobile web) was a red flag in the first place. Thanks again! Have a good day!
