Depedning on the company, your package can come the way you want.

Re: Using VPS

First post, just reading through everything. I'm currently using the Private Internet Access VPN, no issues, but I'm beginning to question it.

I read that phone tethering is another good option. Is this preferred over VPN's?

Also what do Mac Addresses have to do with everything?

What are some reputable VPS services?

Re: Using VPS

Mac Address doesn't have to do with this, it's not related unless you change your device Mac Address to obtain a new Ip address.

A dedicated IP address is preferred firstly (eBay and PayPal like this) and you can get that easily with a VPS or VPN connection. I would personally prefer a VPS over a dynamic tethering option but that's me personally, tethering works fine.

Nope.

VPS is far superior in terms of allowing layers of proection from being detected by ecommerce platforms.

Re: Using VPS

I've only ever used VPN and have never had problems. I pay $40 a year and run all my accounts on it. Its not even a dedicated ip, although it is static. There are three things I do which I think help a lot. I only use accounts aged for at least a year before I start selling on it, instead of having one high volume account I have multiple medium/low volume accounts, and I customize the connection type as well as remote and local ports on my VPN settings which according to something I read years ago, helps a lot.

Are the usability of VPN similar to vps? In terms of lags?

Both of these are extremely different things altogether.

Have you ever used either of them before ???

I'm currently using vps. The speed varies. But always somewhat choppy when using it.

Could you please tell me about customizing the connection type, remote and local port on your VPN? What does that do? Thanks

wkc250...if you are in the US, better options exist such as dongles and cellphone tethering...

Next would be a VPN which is virtual private network. This funnels your internet traffic through a 3rd party (the VPN provider), gives you the IP address set by the provider. You'll only want to use a dedicated IP address from a reputable company.

I don't suggest proxy connections.

Hotspots is something from maybe your mobile phone or wireless hotspot device (dongle), these are fine as it's' your own connection.

Thought I'd clear up a bunch of loose terms.

I am reading the Book now "Amazon Ghost."

Why is there no option over there in the Book for VPS (Virtual private server)?

I see here, that VPS is a good & easy way to overcome the problems of Computer Setup & MAC address & Internet Connection

This should be the best option to go

Please let me know if I am missing something
