Spoofed mac address but different ip address
 

Hi i have a normal user and a stealth user

I spoofed my mac address on the stealth then my ip address changes as it would do.

I have written down my mac address which is spoofed so everytime i go on that stealth account i switch the two last numbers around..and have just noted down the ip address for my own records do when i do go back on everything should match up. i do this before i enter ebay of course.

For some reason i decided to check my ip address..but the ip address was different even though the mac address was the same having spoofed it as i usual do.

ne advise please?

It should like the lease on the IP assigned to that MAC address has expired.

It is fine if you have a different IP address.

As James mentions above, the reason you didn't get the same IP again is probably because you waited too long in between changing, causing the lease time to expire. The IP went back into the available pool of IP's and your ISP assigned that IP to another one of its customer.

Sometimes, with this method, I can retain the same IP for an account for months...other times it is only a day.

As long as you are tracking IPs and following proper stealth methods, you are doing fine.

I thought i was doing something wrong for a minute but yeah I will keep spoofing the same mac address now i know im not doing anything wrong.

Just make sure you keep track of the IP address.

hi james just curious as to why keep track of the ip address? just write it down for my own records even though it might change each time i log on? i keep a record of the mac address so i know which one to use for each user.

You want to keep track of the IP address to ensure stealth accounts do not end up using the same IP address.

Avoid writing the info done.

Why? Simply because that very important piece of paper gets lost, drowned in coffee and/or chewed by the family pet.

try using the file that JamesNorth101's signature. I am sure I gave you this info before/
